Invoicing software creates your quotes and invoices, tracks payments and chases late-paying clients: all ten tools in this ranking do this. Since September 1, 2026, it also lets you receive your electronic invoices through an approved platform, and sending them will follow for SMEs and micro-businesses in September 2027. This ranking compares ten tools that publish their offer in French. For each one: what it does, who it is for, what it says about e-invoicing, its limitations and its price in euros.

The 10 best invoicing software in 2027

  1. Tiime: freelancers and very small businesses that want free e-invoicing, with a business account and accounting as options.
  2. Axonaut: small and mid-sized businesses that want a single tool for invoicing, CRM, cash management and expenses.
  3. evoliz: very small businesses that want invoicing, purchasing and cash management in one software with dual NF certification.
  4. Freebe: freelancers who want to invoice and declare their revenue to URSSAF in the same place.
  5. Abby: self-employed people looking for a free plan, with URSSAF declarations and simplified bookkeeping.
  6. Henrri: small businesses that want free quotes and invoices, with as many users as they need.
  7. VosFactures: companies that invoice in several languages and currencies, or to Belgium through the PEPPOL network.
  8. Zervant: entrepreneurs starting out with few clients who want to invoice from their phone.
  9. Teamleader: agencies and teams that want to connect CRM, quotes, projects and invoices.
  10. Factomos: freelancers, licensed professionals and service companies that bill for time spent.

Why does choosing invoicing software matter so much in 2027?

France's e-invoicing reform turns invoicing software into a compliance tool. According to the page the DGFiP (France's tax administration) devotes to the reform timeline, since September 1, 2026, every business, whatever its size, must receive its invoices in electronic form whenever its supplier is required to issue them in that format. Large companies and mid-cap companies have been issuing their electronic invoices since the same date. SMEs and micro-businesses will follow on September 1, 2027, both for issuing invoices and for sending their transaction and payment data to the tax authorities.

To get there, Service Public Entreprendre, the French government's official business portal, specifies that businesses must use an approved platform (plateforme agréée). Businesses can, however, use a "compatible solution", which is connected to an approved platform.

The second issue is cash flow. According to the 2025 report of the Observatoire des délais de paiement (France's payment terms observatory), presented by the Banque de France on September 24, 2026, payment delays in France stood at 13.4 days at the end of 2025, and SMEs and micro-businesses would have had €13 billion in additional cash without late payments. Automatic reminders, online payment and late-payment tracking, offered by most of the tools below, address this.

Before you choose, look at how the software imports your clients, your items and your invoice history, in case you switch tools in the middle of a financial year. Also favor software that already covers receiving in 2026 and states clearly how it will handle sending in 2027.

How did we rank these tools?

The ranking rests only on what each vendor publishes on its own site (home page, features page, pricing page), read in October 2026, with no paid test and no partnership. Four criteria, in this order:

1. Stated compliance with e-invoicing. Approved platform, compatible solution or partner, and exactly what the site says about receiving and sending.

2. Coverage of the billing cycle. From quote to payment: turning a quote into an invoice, online payment, status tracking, automatic reminders, connection to the bank and to the accountant.

3. Clarity and level of pricing. A free plan, prices published in euros on the French version of the site and readable limits (number of clients, invoices or users) move a tool up.

4. Fit with the target audience. Who each vendor addresses, and a French-language site for all ten picks.

Left aside: user counts, ratings and reviews displayed by vendors, which cannot be verified from the outside.

The 10 best invoicing software: the reviews

1. Tiime

Tiime promises entrepreneurs 100% free e-invoicing. Its Approved Platform lets you receive all your electronic invoices without limit, and the software creates unlimited customized, compliant quotes and invoices, on the web or on mobile. As options: a business account, accounting, cash management and expense reports.

Tiime is also a payment institution: the business account is included in all paid plans, and with the Approved Platform, your invoice statuses update automatically. Your accountant finds your transactions and receipts without entering anything twice.

Best for: sole traders under France's micro-entrepreneur regime, freelancers and very small businesses that want to become compliant for free, then add a business account and accounting the day they need them.

Strengths: a Free plan with no credit card, with e-invoicing, unlimited invoices and quotes, payment tracking and reminders; a business account with automated matching of incoming payments in the paid plans; a 60-day trial on the paid plans.

Limitations: the Initial plan requires opening a Tiime business account; e-signature of quotes, payment links built into invoices and debt collection are reserved for the Business plan; URSSAF (the French social security collection agency) calculations and declarations carry the label "Bientôt" (coming soon).

Pricing: Free plan at no cost. Paid plans start at €9.99 excl. VAT per month (Initial, billed €119.88 excl. VAT per year), then €17.99 excl. VAT (Smart) and €24.99 excl. VAT (Business) in the first bracket shown. The price depends on company size: Smart, for example, rises to €29.99 excl. VAT per month in a higher bracket. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

2. Axonaut

Axonaut describes itself as the tool "that does much more than invoicing": management software for small and mid-sized businesses that brings together quotes and invoices, expenses, CRM, cash management, inventory, projects, HR and customer service. The vendor is registered with the French State as an approved platform, which lets it receive and transmit electronic invoices at no extra cost within the subscription.

On the invoicing side, Axonaut turns a quote into an invoice in one click, gets quotes signed electronically, alerts you when a client opens a document and automatically follows up on quotes and unpaid invoices. It handles recurring invoices, progress invoices for construction jobs and VAT on margin. Online payment goes through Stripe, GoCardless or PayPal, and data is hosted in France.

Best for: small and mid-sized businesses that want to replace several tools (CRM, invoicing, cash management, expense reports) with a single subscription.

Strengths: every feature included in the price, with no extra module to activate; a business account included, with a French IBAN and free cards for you and your employees; free access for your accountant and a direct integration with accounting software.

Limitations: the site offers a 15-day free trial and no permanent free plan; external services (e-signature, online invoice payment, postal mail) are billed on top; the single package covers the whole management of the business, including when you only want to invoice.

Pricing: the pricing page shows amounts that do not match: "from €38/month" in its title, "€69.99/month with no commitment, or from €34.99/month over 3 years" in its description, and "€97/month (1 user included) + €29.99/month per user" in its FAQ. Amounts to confirm with the vendor. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

3. evoliz

evoliz combines online invoicing and accounting, backed by the Visma group, with a product built since 2010. With an approved platform included, it covers five areas: invoicing, purchasing, cash management, reminders and reporting. Quotes become invoices without re-entering data, even from the mobile app.

The software holds dual certification under France's VAT anti-fraud law (NF 203 and NF 525) and uses the approved platform Chaintrust by Visma to send electronic invoices and transmit data to the tax authorities. It also handles progress invoices and retainage, multiple currencies, the cash register Z report for retailers and AI processing of purchase documents.

Best for: very small businesses, including retailers with a cash register, that want to invoice, track their purchases and reconcile their bank in one certified tool.

Strengths: dual NF 203 and NF 525 certification; unlimited invoices and quotes from the Essentielle plan, with e-signature and bank sync; support reachable by phone, email or chat.

Limitations: no free plan, only a 15-day trial; automatic reminders and recurring invoices require the Avancée plan; each additional user costs €9 per month.

Pricing: Essentielle plan at €29 excl. VAT per month (€290 per year when paid annually), Avancée plan at €49 excl. VAT per month (€490 per year). Price checked on October 10, 2026.

4. Freebe

Freebe targets the self-employed with e-invoicing software: micro-businesses and EI (sole proprietorships), SAS and SASU, EURL and SARL (French company forms), GIE (economic interest groupings) and artist-authors. The vendor calls itself an official partner of URSSAF and of Adie, a French microcredit association. From a client's name, the tool retrieves its legal details (Siret company number, VAT number, address).

Freebe covers a freelancer's whole administrative journey: quotes that clients approve online, deposit, balance and credit invoices, time tracking, card payment through Stripe with no commission taken by Freebe, bank sync with more than 450 banks, a receipts ledger and purchase register generated automatically, then the revenue declaration to URSSAF.

Best for: micro-entrepreneurs and freelancers who want invoicing, time tracking and their URSSAF declaration in one tool.

Strengths: a single price based on your legal status, with every feature included; a pre-filled URSSAF declaration and alerts on your legal obligations; 30 days free with no credit card, with full functionality.

Limitations: Freebe writes that it "is becoming a FacturX-compliant Compatible Solution"; the site does not say it is itself an approved platform, and a compatible solution is connected to an approved platform. The mobile app has not been available since 2023 (the tool still works in the phone's browser), and signing up requires a valid Siret number.

Pricing: €12.50 per month, billed €150 incl. VAT per year, with no commitment; the price varies with your legal status. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

5. Abby

Abby positions itself on invoicing and bookkeeping for all self-employed people, from micro-entrepreneurs to SARL, SAS, SASU and EURL companies. Its free plan includes e-invoicing, unlimited quotes and invoices, the receipts and purchases ledger and an estimate of URSSAF contributions. Abby states a certified Approved Platform, native Factur-X format (the French-German hybrid e-invoice standard) and automatic data transmission to the DGFiP.

The tool connects invoicing, online payment collection, bookkeeping (bank connection, receipts ledger, cash management) and the declaration to URSSAF, of which Abby is an official partner. It also handles immediate advance of the tax credit for personal services, a French scheme for home help and similar services.

Best for: micro-entrepreneurs and freelancers who want to start for free, and personal services professionals who use the immediate advance.

Strengths: a free Basique plan with e-invoicing; built-in online revenue declaration and payment of URSSAF contributions; sync with more than 300 banks, according to the vendor.

Limitations: sending invoices by email and card payment come with the Start plan; reminders for unpaid invoices and the bank connection require the Pro plan; the prices recorded are "Promotion rentrée" (back-to-school promotion) prices at -40%. Several features carry the "Bientôt" (coming soon) label, such as the FEC export (France's standard accounting entries file) and the business account.

Pricing: free Basique plan; Start at €5.40 excl. VAT per month (€9 without the promotion), Pro at €9 excl. VAT (€15), Business at €19.80 excl. VAT (€33). Prices shown for EI, SARL, SAS, SASU, EURL and SCI, during the back-to-school promotion. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

6. Henrri

Henrri offers free software for quotes, invoices and payments, launched by Rivalis. Its Pro plan at €0 includes unlimited sending and receiving of electronic invoices, registration with an approved platform, unlimited quotes, payment tracking, reminders for unpaid invoices and multi-user access.

The software connects to accounting tools such as Pennylane, ACD or Cegid and offers instant payment collection: payment by QR code or payment link, and a smartphone turned into a card terminal. Servers are hosted in France, and the paid plans add bank sync, a signature pack and a "Coach Devis" that suggests services and local market prices.

Best for: very small businesses and tradespeople who want compliant invoicing with no subscription, with several people on the same account.

Strengths: a free, unlimited plan, e-invoicing included; an unlimited number of users; four levels of reminders for unpaid invoices.

Limitations: the mobile version is designed for tablets, excluding mini tablets; bank sync and online signature require a paid plan; card payment collection costs 1.2% + €0.15 per transaction.

Pricing: free Pro plan; Expert at €17 excl. VAT per month billed annually (€204) or €19 excl. VAT monthly; Smart at €25 excl. VAT annually (€300) or €29 excl. VAT monthly; VIP at €49 excl. VAT annually (€588) or €59 excl. VAT monthly. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

7. VosFactures

VosFactures is online invoicing software certified as an Approved Platform for sending, receiving and transmitting electronic invoices, included in every plan at no extra cost. It adds business-to-business sending and receiving of invoices through PEPPOL, an e-invoice exchange network that follows European standards, in Belgium and with other international partners.

The software covers every sales document (quote, purchase order, invoice, credit note, deposit, delivery note, proforma), in several languages and currencies. Your clients can pay online by card, bank transfer, PayPal or in Bitcoin. The site also lists inventory management, a mobile app, an open API and management of several companies from a single account.

Best for: companies that invoice abroad or to Belgium, and those that manage several companies or branches.

Strengths: e-invoicing included from the free plan; free access for your accountant; free support by phone, email, chat and forum.

Limitations: the free Micro plan is limited to 3 documents per month; bank sync, online payment and online signature start with the Pro plan; export to Chorus Pro (the French government's invoicing portal for public sector clients) is reserved for the Max plan.

Pricing: Micro at €0; Basique at €5 excl. VAT per month, Standard at €15 excl. VAT, Pro at €25 excl. VAT, Max at €60 excl. VAT, i.e. from €60 to €720 excl. VAT per year when paid annually. 30-day free trial. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

8. Zervant

Zervant offers free, 100% online invoicing software, "made by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs", which belongs to the Ageras group. You create quotes that your clients accept online, then convert them automatically into invoices. A color code shows the status of each invoice, and payment reminders can go out automatically.

The mobile app works with every subscription, free version included. All plans include receiving electronic invoices, adding receipts with automatic VAT detection, exporting documents and at least one bank connection.

Best for: entrepreneurs starting out with a few clients who want to invoice for free, including from their phone.

Strengths: unlimited invoices and quotes from the Free plan; the mobile app included in every plan; a 30-day free trial on paid monthly subscriptions.

Limitations: the pricing page states that Shine Facture is the new invoicing tool "gradually succeeding Zervant": ask which tool you will use in the long run. The home page writes that Zervant "will be" an approved platform, in the future tense, and sending as an electronic invoice requires a Premium subscription. The Free plan is limited to 5 clients.

Pricing: Free at €0 (5 clients); Start at €9 per month billed annually (€108 per year) or €11 monthly; Plus at €20 per month billed annually (€240 per year) or €25 monthly, VAT treatment not stated. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

9. Teamleader

Teamleader brings together CRM, quotes, projects, invoices, expenses and reports in Teamleader Focus. An accepted quote becomes a project with its tasks in a single click, you check in real time whether the project is on schedule and on budget, then you invoice straight from the project.

Electronic invoices go out via Peppol, included by default, with automatic payment reminders and automatic transfer to your accounting software; the vendor promises e-invoicing "in three clicks". Focus AI prepares your invoices and projects, with your approval before each action. Paid modules called Boosters add, for example, project management or scheduling.

Best for: agencies and service companies with a team, that bill for projects and time spent and want to connect sales to invoicing.

Strengths: electronically signed quotes with real-time status tracking; a direct path from quote to project to invoice; a 14-day free trial with no credit card.

Limitations: on the pricing page, e-invoicing and automatic payment reminders appear from the Grow plan; Boosters are added to the price; the French site talks about sending via Peppol and does not mention approved platform status. The price is calculated per user.

Pricing: the pricing page title says "from 37.5 EUR", and the page specifies that prices are per user per month, excluding VAT. Boosters cost €20 to €50 per month at the discounted price shown. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

10. Factomos

Factomos, with certified invoicing software compliant with e-invoicing, targets freelancers, licensed professionals, tradespeople, agencies, service companies, farmers and artist-authors. It produces quotes, invoices and delivery notes and converts one document into another in a few clicks. Invoices are sent to the approved platform in three clicks.

With each invoice you send, you can offer a payment link by card, bank transfer, direct debit or PayPal, and turn on automatic reminders for unpaid invoices. Factomos connects your bank accounts to track cash flow, and its Tempo plan adds task-based project management and time tracking, billable or not. The approved platform is a service provided by Cecurity.

Best for: freelancers and small service companies that invoice little at first, then bill for time spent.

Strengths: automatic reminders and online payment from the Mini plan; support by chat, email and phone in every plan; a 15-day free trial with no credit card.

Limitations: the Mini plan is limited to 30 invoices per year; no free plan; Factomos works in the phone's browser and the site does not mention a mobile app; the vendor does not refund subscriptions.

Pricing: Mini at €9 excl. VAT per month billed monthly or €7.20 excl. VAT billed annually (€86.40 per year); Vision at €29 excl. VAT or €23.20 excl. VAT billed annually; Tempo at €49 excl. VAT or €39.20 excl. VAT billed annually; additional user at €5 per month. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

What should you check before choosing?

1. What is the software's exact status under the reform? Ask whether the vendor is itself an approved platform, or a compatible solution connected to an approved platform, and which one.

2. Where does the free plan end? The free plans in this ranking each have their ceiling: 5 clients at Zervant, 3 documents per month at VosFactures, no email sending in Abby's Basique plan.

3. What does the tool cost over twelve months, all in? Add up the subscription, extra users, optional modules and card collection fees. Also spot promotional prices and the gap between monthly and annual billing, which reaches 20% at Factomos.

4. Does the software talk to your bank and your accountant? Bank sync, free access for the accounting firm and an accounting export spare you double data entry.

5. Can you get your data back, and will the tool stay the same? Check imports and exports (clients, items, history). Software that names a successor, as Zervant does with Shine Facture, means a migration to plan for.

Where does this ranking stop?

It captures the state of the reform in October 2026. Approved platform statuses, plans and promotions shift as e-invoicing rolls out: Zervant, for example, writes that it "will be" an approved platform, and Abby displays back-to-school prices. This page will be revised.

It relies on what vendors publish. In October 2026 we read the home, features and pricing pages of each site, with no paid account and without sending a real electronic invoice. For a few vendors, our reading did not cover all of these pages: the reviews then stick to what was readable.

It deals with issuing and tracking invoices. Software whose core business is accounting, CRM or specialized construction quotes belongs in other rankings, which explains why some well-known names are missing.

Your invoice volume matters more than the rank. A few invoices a month for a micro-entrepreneur, hundreds for an SME with several users: look first at plan ceilings and at the Best for line.

How do future clients find you, once invoicing is sorted?

The ten tools in this ranking handle what follows the client's "yes": the quote, the invoice, payment tracking and the reminder. Their work begins once the client has already found you. The step before is still up to you: showing up on Google, and being cited by AIs like ChatGPT, when a buyer looks for a provider like you. For other channels, see the 50 best customer acquisition channels in 2026.

Sorank automates this work. The software analyzes your visibility in AI assistants, identifies your keywords, then writes and publishes articles optimized for AI assistants, with their sources and internal links. It also tells you, prompt by prompt, when an AI mentions you. The details are on our page about GEO software.

If you want to see what this would look like for your business, book a call.

Conclusion

Three profiles, three choices. Tiime if you are self-employed or run a very small business and want free e-invoicing, with the option to add a business account and accounting later; Freebe if you are a freelancer and want invoices, time tracking and your URSSAF declaration together for a single price based on your status; Axonaut if you run an SME and want one tool for invoicing, CRM, cash management and expenses.

Before you sign, start the free trial, issue three real invoices and one reminder, then ask your accountant whether the data comes through properly. One hour of testing can spare you a migration in the middle of the reform.

Frequently asked questions

Is invoicing software mandatory in 2026?

Since September 1, 2026, every business in France, whatever its size, must receive its invoices in electronic form, and SMEs and micro-businesses will have to issue them in that format from September 1, 2027. Service Public Entreprendre, the French government's business portal, states that businesses must use an approved platform for this, either directly or through a compatible solution connected to an approved platform. Invoicing software linked to an approved platform lets you follow this timeline without changing tools.

Is there free invoicing software that complies with e-invoicing?

Yes. Tiime (Free plan), Abby (Basique plan) and Henrri (Pro plan at €0) advertise free e-invoicing with an approved platform. VosFactures and Zervant also have a free plan, limited to 3 documents per month for VosFactures and to 5 clients for Zervant. Check which features are reserved for paid plans before you commit.

What is the difference between an approved platform and a compatible solution?

To move to e-invoicing, businesses must use an approved platform. Businesses can, however, use a compatible solution, which is connected to an approved platform. In this ranking, Freebe presents itself as a compatible solution, while Tiime, Axonaut or VosFactures present themselves as approved platforms.
