Our ranking of the 10 best freelance SEO consultants in France in 2027, checked one by one, with published prices, method and limits.

Choosing among the best SEO consultants in France means handing the organic search strategy of your site to a single person rather than to an agency team. The person who sells you the engagement is the one who runs the audit and follows your rankings. Google itself publishes a guide on choosing an SEO: it advises interviewing the candidate, asking for examples of past work, and reminds readers that no one can guarantee a number one ranking in its results, according to Google Search Central's official documentation. This ranking brings together ten independent consultants, checked one by one, and says for each which type of site they suit.
An independent SEO consultant is both your point of contact and the expert. The first meeting, the audit, the recommendations and the follow-up of results all go through the same person, with no project manager between you and your site.
This format has three advantages for a very small or mid-sized business: contact is direct, fees are often lower than at an agency because there is no structure to fund, and the consultant knows your site in detail. It also has two limits: one person cannot produce the content, the technical fixes and the links all at once, and their holidays or a period of sick leave slow the project down. Several consultants on this list solve this with partner freelancers, or by leaving the execution to your team.
If your site has several hundred thousand pages, if you publish dozens of pieces of content a month, or if you need writing, development and press relations at the same time, an agency team is often a better fit. Our ranking of the best SEO agencies in France covers that case.
Five criteria, in this order, applied only to what each consultant publishes on their own site. Every site on this list was reviewed on 14 October 2026, and this page is scheduled for review every 90 days.
1. SEO is the core business. Consultants who present organic search as their specialty come before those who list it among website creation, advertising or social media.
2. Proof you can check yourself. Named clients, reviews published on a third-party platform (Google, Malt), a book with a publisher or talks at industry events count for more than a figure shown without a source.
3. An offer you can read before the first call. A published starting price, a day rate or a clear explanation of what the engagement includes.
4. Fit with a type of site. We deliberately kept profiles that serve very different needs (local SEO, e-commerce, technical migration, large accounts) and said which ones.
5. Real, independent activity. A live website, the person's name displayed, work as a consultant who carries out the engagements personally. An agency that relies on a salaried team was left out of this ranking, even if its founder is well known.
What we deliberately did not do: we did not repeat the traffic gains, client counts or managed budgets published by the consultants, because there is no way to verify them from outside. Rankings of consultants published by a consultant on their own site, and competition results announced by the winner, did not count as proof. We did not audit any client site.
Olivier Duffez has been an SEO consultant since 2003, is based in Toulouse, and in 2002 created WebRankInfo, one of the reference sites on SEO in French. He works through his company WebRankExpert and writes that he carries out every audit and every engagement himself, with no subcontracting. He names several clients: Orange, Fnac, Doctissimo, Apec, Oscaro and L'Argus. His engagement always starts with a modular audit (technical, semantic mapping, Search Console, backlinks, credibility, visibility in AI), followed either by a two-month package or by a twelve-month engagement with a technical audit every month. He does not publish prices: the proposal depends on the number of pages and the components chosen.
Best for: sites with a large number of pages, online retailers and media that have a team or an agency to apply the recommendations. If you want to delegate the writing and the execution, his method will leave a large share of the work to you.

Aymeric Bouillat has been an independent technical SEO consultant since 2024, after a career in several well-known SEO agencies: Netbooster in 2012, Resoneo in 2014, SEO Hackers in 2017, then Novalem within the Havas group in 2019. He works on crawling and indexing, web performance, site migrations, international SEO and structured data, often on site at the client's offices, with audits that take technical feasibility into account. He speaks at industry conferences (SMX Paris, SEO Camp'us, Search Y), teaches in schools and publishes free SEO tools on his site. He publishes neither prices nor client reviews.
Best for: companies preparing a redesign, a domain change or an international rollout, whose technical team needs a counterpart who speaks its language. For a small local brochure site, a more generalist profile will do.

Guillaume Girod is an SEO consultant in Lyon. He has worked in SEO since 2017, first in an agency and then in-house, and has been a full-time independent since November 2024, with no subcontracting. He names clients and brands he has worked on over his career: HelloAsso, Warner Music France, Sony Music, LCL, Columbia and Mobalpa. His stated strengths are link building, technical SEO on sites with a large volume of URLs, and e-commerce. His site shows a Malt rating of 5 out of 5 across 34 engagements. He prepares a tailored quote, by day rate or fixed fee, with no minimum commitment.
Best for: online retailers and brands competing on difficult queries that need a real link strategy. His full-time independence is recent: ask on the first call how many clients he follows in parallel.

Alexandra Martin, known as Miss SEO Girl, has worked in SEO since 2008, first in agencies in Nantes, and has been self-employed since 2015. She is co-author of the book « Techniques de référencement web » (Web SEO techniques), published by Eyrolles with Mathieu Chartier, and of a second book on content strategy. Her blog has been kept up to date for years, with roundups of expert opinions on SEO and link building trends for 2026. She offers potential studies, benchmarks, audits, strategic plans, web writing and follow-up, alone or with freelance collaborators depending on the project. Her prices are not published.
Best for: sites whose growth depends on content (blogs, editorial sites, e-commerce with many product pages) that want an editorial strategy designed for search. For a mostly technical project, other profiles on this list are more specialised.

Frédéric Jézégou is an SEO and GEO consultant in Pornichet, in Loire-Atlantique, under the Rankit brand, and announces 20 years of experience. He publishes his prices: a technical SEO audit with a section on visibility in AI at €500 excl. VAT, and a monthly engagement from €600 excl. VAT a month, with a three-month minimum commitment. He states that he works alone and does not follow more than five clients in parallel. His site highlights SEO competition results and a ranking of consultants that he publishes himself and in which he comes first: we did not count them as proof.
Best for: very small businesses and SMEs that want a known price before the first call and monthly follow-up covering both Google and AI. The three-month commitment and the limited number of places are worth considering if you are in a hurry.

Nils Talibart has been an independent SEO consultant since 2012 and is based in Rennes. He details on-site engagements with large companies, two to three days a week: La Poste from 2020 to 2024 (SEO specifications for the redesign of the e-commerce site, redirect plan), SeLoger and Brico Dépôt. He also works as a subcontractor for agencies and offers Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Looker Studio. Since 2004 he has run Stade Rennais Online, an independent site about the football club, which led him to SEO. His prices are not published: the quote is free.
Best for: large companies that want a consultant inside their teams a few days a week during a redesign, or SMEs that want SEO and conversion tracking with the same person. He does not publish quantified client reviews: ask for recent references on the first call.

Clément Couderc is a freelance SEO consultant in Bordeaux, with more than nine years of announced experience, including a manager role at the Eskimoz agency where he trained consultants. He offers semantic, competitor and technical audits, SEO redesigns, link building campaigns and monthly support. He publishes his day rate, €700 excl. VAT, and a budget example for a small site: €2,100 excl. VAT for the audits, then €700 excl. VAT a month of support, excluding link building. His site quotes one named testimonial, from the marketing director of Ignition Program.
Best for: SMEs and start-ups that want a predictable budget and an agency method without the overhead. The small number of published references is worth checking with examples of past engagements on the first call.

Thomas Cubel is an SEO consultant in Seine-et-Marne and writes on his blog that he has been freelancing for more than ten years. His offer covers SEO only: audits, coaching, ongoing support and training. His references page publishes named testimonials from owners of high-traffic sites, such as Minecraft-France and the Gamewave network, and states that he also works under white label for agencies and consultants. He publishes guides and podcasts about SEO. His prices are not published.
Best for: publishers of content sites and online media that want long-term, educational support, especially after a drop in traffic. His blog has not been updated since 2024, something to keep in mind if you want someone very present on current news.

Arnaud Yhuel, known by the pseudonym MediaMiu, has been a freelance SEO consultant in the Rennes area since 2011. He offers SEO audits, technical structure, content, link building, web strategy and SEO training, and also builds websites when the project calls for it. He states that he is not an agency, that he calls on partners (a developer, a marketing agency) when needed, and that he refers clients to other consultants in Rennes when he is not available. He publishes neither prices nor quantified reviews.
Best for: businesses in Brittany that want a local consultant able to train their team in SEO. For a large account or a heavy technical project, the profiles higher up this list are a better fit.

Charles Migaud is an SEO and GEO consultant in Lille, registered as a sole trader, and announces more than ten years of SEO experience, in e-commerce, in an agency and with large accounts before independent consulting. He carries out the audits himself (technical, semantic, authority) as well as the monthly engagement, with no minimum term, and calls on trusted specialists when an engagement requires development or a large volume of writing. He also covers e-commerce, local SEO and Google Maps, migrations, international SEO and log analysis, and has built free tools such as SEO Sentinel, which monitors errors on a site's key pages. His site shows 70 Google reviews with a rating of 5 out of 5, several of which concern his tools rather than client engagements. His prices are not published: he works on a day rate or a fixed fee, on quotation.
Best for: businesses in the Hauts-de-France region that want a nearby consultant, and e-commerce sites or SMEs preparing a redesign without wanting to commit for several months. His case studies are anonymised: on the first call, ask for references you can contact.

Four points to raise on the first call, whoever the consultant is.
Three limits, stated clearly.
It is based on public information. We read what each consultant publishes and checked that each site was live on 14 October 2026. We did not audit any client site or confirm any result. A consultant who communicates little and delivers very well will be underrated here.
It does not know your site. The right consultant for migrating a 500,000-page e-commerce site is rarely the right one for a tradesperson's brochure site. The Best for lines matter more than the rank number.
It ages. Consultants' prices, offers and availability change quickly. Check on the consultant's site before you sign.
A consultant makes judgement calls: which pages to merge, which technical project to tackle first, when a redesign is worth the risk. These decisions require knowing your market and your team. Regular content production, on the other hand, repeats every week, and that is often where SEO projects run out of steam.
That is what Sorank automates: after an audit of your site, the platform finds your keywords, writes and publishes articles optimised for Google and for AI assistants, and shows you when an AI assistant cites your brand. Many companies combine the two: the consultant for strategy and judgement calls, the software to keep publishing without interruption.
The best SEO consultant is the one whose usual engagements resemble your site. For a large site with a team to carry out the work, Olivier Duffez offers the longest track record and the most verifiable references. For a redesign or a technical project, Aymeric Bouillat. For an e-commerce site that needs links, Guillaume Girod. For a very small business that wants a published price, Frédéric Jézégou is the most transparent. And to publish content every week that gets you cited by Google and by AI assistants, discover Sorank.
The prices published by the consultants in this ranking range from €500 excl. VAT for an audit to €700 excl. VAT for a day of consulting. A published monthly engagement starts between €600 and €700 excl. VAT a month, sometimes with a three-month commitment, excluding link purchases. Several consultants publish no prices and prepare a quote based on the size of the site.
A consultant suits you when you want a single point of contact who knows your site in detail, and your team or freelancers can apply the recommendations. An agency becomes a better fit when you need to produce a lot of content, fix the site and earn links at the same time, with a team that does not depend on a single person.
Ask for named clients or an anonymised audit example, read the reviews published on a third-party platform such as Google or Malt, and check how long they have worked independently. Be wary of any guarantee of a number one ranking: Google's documentation states that no one can promise it. At first, give them only read-only access to your Search Console.
THEY TRIED SORANK BEFORE YOU
