The short answer

The French netlinking market has split into two models. Platforms give you a catalogue of publishers, a price per placement and the controls to buy them yourself. Agencies decide the strategy, choose the sites and take responsibility for the result. Develink ranks first because it sits deliberately across both, offering the publisher catalogue and the option of handing the whole programme over.

Here is the full ranking, with what each one says it does and the situation it suits best.

1. Develink. A publisher catalogue with a managed option. Best for control with the option to delegate.

2. NetlinkSEO. Bespoke netlinking for smaller companies and stores. Best for a first structured link programme.

3. HyperLinker. A netlinking platform covering search and AI visibility. Best for teams that want to steer it themselves.

4. Thriix. Content and links from the same team. Best when the pages are as weak as the links.

5. Vincent Hégo. An independent consultant, not an agency. Best for a small site wanting one senior contact.

6. Digimood. Netlinking inside a full search practice. Best for a wider search mandate.

7. Doko. A Lyon agency with a named netlinking practice. Best for companies wanting a local team.

8. Flair Agency. Search and AI visibility with links included. Best when AI citations matter too.

9. Agence Onze. Organic search only, nothing else. Best for a specialist with no distractions.

10. Astrak. Organic search with sector practices. Best for competitive verticals.

Why links still decide who ranks

Every year someone announces that links no longer matter. Every year the pages winning competitive terms are the ones other sites talk about. The mechanism has not changed: a link from a site that has earned attention transfers a share of that attention, and search engines still have no better proxy for whether the rest of the web takes you seriously.

What has changed is what a bad link costs. Buying volume from a network of empty sites built for that purpose was once merely ineffective. It is now actively risky, and the cheap end of this market is largely made of exactly that.

The newer development is that the same third party pages feed AI answers. When an assistant recommends three companies, it draws on comparisons, listings and articles published elsewhere. A link programme aimed only at rankings is now under selling itself.

How we ranked these agencies

We used four criteria, in this order, and only what each one publishes about itself.

1. Where the links come from. Agencies that describe their publisher sourcing, and the kind of sites they work with, come first.

2. Whether content comes with it. A link inside a badly written article on an irrelevant site is worth very little. Firms that write the article properly are selling something different.

3. Platform or managed service. Neither is better, but they suit different buyers. We noted which one each firm actually is.

4. Whether the site is alive and clear. We looked at every homepage in our list, in August 2026. One domain in our netlinking list is now simply parked for sale, which is a fitting reminder about the durability of some suppliers in this sector.

We did not repeat the traffic gains or revenue figures published on these homepages, because none of them can be verified from the outside.

The 10 best netlinking agencies in France

1. Develink

Develink runs a netlinking platform giving access to a catalogue of publishers across a wide range of B2B and B2C themes, with premium sponsored article publication, and also offers to take the helm of the whole netlinking programme. Having both options under one roof is genuinely useful: most companies start by wanting control and end up wanting the work done.

Best for: companies that want to see the publisher list before committing to a strategy.

2. NetlinkSEO

NetlinkSEO offers bespoke netlinking aimed specifically at smaller companies and online stores, built around authority backlinks including placements in established media outlets. Addressing that segment directly matters, because the standard netlinking pitch is written for companies with budgets that a small business does not have.

Best for: smaller companies and stores building their first serious link profile.

3. HyperLinker

HyperLinker is a netlinking platform driven by AI, presenting a modular solution to steer, produce and track, with position monitoring across search results and stated coverage of visibility inside the main assistants. It is the most product like option here, which suits an internal team that wants the tooling rather than the service.

Best for: in house teams that want to run the programme with their own hands.

HyperLinker packages netlinking as a platform covering search and AI visibility.

4. Thriix

Thriix is a digital marketing agency specialised in search, content marketing and netlinking, with an editorial practice covering web writing, content audits, editorial strategy, translation and infographics next to the link building. Content and links from the same team removes the most common excuse in this trade, which is each side blaming the other.

Best for: sites where the pages being linked to also need rewriting.

5. Vincent Hégo

Vincent Hégo is an independent search consultant based in Montpellier and working across France since 2016, offering search support, audits, netlinking, local search, coaching and training, and publishing a six month roadmap as the shape of an engagement. He is a person rather than an agency, which is the point: the person you meet is the person doing the work.

Best for: small and mid sized companies that want one senior contact throughout.

6. Digimood

Digimood is a search and paid media agency whose organic practice names netlinking explicitly, alongside technical support, search strategy, web writing, local and international search, generative search and web accessibility. Netlinking inside a full search mandate means the links are chosen against a keyword plan rather than bought on their own.

Best for: companies buying organic and paid search together.

7. Doko

Doko is a Lyon web marketing agency with a named netlinking practice sitting next to organic search, generative search and the paid channels, working with clients organised by sector. For companies who want to sit in a room with the people doing the work, geography is not a detail.

Best for: companies in the Lyon region wanting a local search team.

8. Flair Agency

Flair Agency works on search and AI visibility together, with semantic analysis, technical search, content creation, editorial strategy, netlinking and a stated practice on community platforms. That last point is worth noticing: discussion sites now carry unusual weight in the answers assistants produce.

Best for: companies whose link strategy should serve AI citations as much as rankings.

9. Agence Onze

Agence Onze states plainly that it does organic search and nothing else, addressing ambitious brands and setting the engagement around achieving the client's stated objectives. Single discipline agencies are rarer than they used to be, and in a trade where the temptation to upsell is constant, that focus is worth something.

Best for: companies that want a search specialist with no adjacent services to sell.

Homepage of the Agence Onze SEO agency website
Agence Onze practises organic search as its only discipline.

10. Astrak

Astrak also works exclusively on organic search, with a senior team and six named sector practices. Sector practices matter in link building more than anywhere else, because the publishers that will accept an article about industrial equipment are not the ones that publish about beauty.

Best for: companies in competitive verticals where publisher relationships already exist.

What to check before you sign

Three questions separate a link programme from an invoice.

1. Can you see the site before it is bought? You should approve each placement, or at minimum each publisher category. Agencies that refuse to name the sites in advance are usually protecting a supplier list you would not be impressed by.

2. Does the publisher have real visitors? A site built to sell links has no audience, and a link that no human will ever click is exactly what search engines have spent fifteen years learning to discount.

3. What is the pace? Forty links in a month on a site that had six is not a strategy, it is a signal. Agree a rhythm that matches the size of your site.

Links are the second half of the job

A link points at a page. If that page says nothing worth reading, the link is expensive scaffolding around an empty building. That is the most common way netlinking budgets get wasted in France: excellent placements aimed at thin pages that would not have ranked whatever pointed at them.

The order that works is the boring one. Publish pages that genuinely answer what buyers ask, consistently, so there is something worth linking to and something worth citing. Then earn or buy the links that make those pages visible.

That first half is what Sorank automates. It is software, not an agency: keyword research, article writing, internal linking, publishing to your site and tracking how often you appear in the answers AI assistants give. Pricing starts at 99€ per month, with 3 days offered and a card required at sign up. If you would rather talk it through first, book a call.

Conclusion

If you want one recommendation: Develink when you want to see the catalogue and keep the option of delegating, Thriix when the pages need as much work as the links, and Vincent Hégo if you would rather deal with one experienced person than with an account manager.

And ask every candidate the same question: show me three sites you would place me on, and tell me how many real visitors they get. The answers to that one question will sort your shortlist faster than any proposal document.

Frequently questions asked

How much does a backlink cost in France?

There is no single answer, because you are buying two different things: the publication itself and the authority of the site publishing it. A link on a small thematic blog and a link inside a national media outlet are separated by more than an order of magnitude. What matters more than the unit price is what you get for it: a real article, on a page that receives visitors, in a site whose subject has something to do with yours.

Are paid links against Google's guidelines?

Buying links to influence rankings is against them, and the whole French netlinking market operates in that grey area, including every agency on this page. The practical question is therefore risk management: links that look natural, arrive at a reasonable pace, sit inside genuinely useful articles and come from sites with real audiences carry far less risk than a bulk order on a link farm. Any agency that tells you there is no risk at all is not being straight with you.

How many backlinks do you need?

The useful answer comes from your competitors, not from a target number. Look at what the pages currently ranking for your priority terms have earned, in quality as much as in quantity, and aim to become comparable rather than to hit a round figure. A site with strong content and few links usually gains more from ten good links than from a hundred mediocre ones.

Our clients' case studies

I specialized in GEO thanks to Sorank. The GEO Leaderboard allows me to show my clients their position vs competitors on ChatGPT. It’s a real commercial differentiator.

I’m a developer, not a marketer. My Shopify theme was selling only through word-of-mouth and ads. With Sorank I finally understood how to structure my SEO and write articles to rank. The audit showed my product page was too slow. In 2 months, my organic traffic doubled and I’m starting to appear in ChatGPT answers when people search for Shopify themes. All of that with about 2 hours per week.

I manage our dealership’s website and it had dozens of issues: slow pages, 404 errors, missing tags. We were losing rankings every month without understanding why. The Sorank audit detected everything in 5 minutes. I sent the report to our web provider with the priority fixes. We regained our rankings and traffic picked back up. Perfect for someone non-technical like me!

I’m a CMO for a SaaS and I manage acquisition in a very competitive market. We were investing heavily in our product but not working on our SEO. No visibility on our real competitors, no tracking of our presence in AI. Sorank showed us our positioning vs competitors, which keywords to target, and GEO opportunities we had completely ignored!

We are an Ads agency and we wanted to get our SEO back on track once and for all. Sorank gave us a clear view of our site, helped us prioritize optimizations, and properly structure our content. The tool is easy to use, well designed for a team, and very practical for centralizing tracking without having to juggle multiple platforms. A very solid foundation to start fresh with our SEO.

For 2 years, 100% of my clients came from LinkedIn. Posting daily, commenting, DM follow-ups… totally dependent on the algorithm. I knew I needed to work on SEO but always postponed it: too long, too technical, not my job. With Sorank, I finally took the step. In 4 months, I generate 15 organic leads per month without posting anything. It’s not 50/50 with LinkedIn yet, but I sleep better knowing I now have a second lead source growing on autopilot.
