The short answer

Social media is the widest category in French digital services and the one where the label hides the most variation. Community management, creative production, paid social and creator work are four different jobs sold under one name, and most companies buy the wrong one. We Are Social ranks first for a reason nobody else on this page can match: it publishes the research the rest of the industry uses to make its arguments.

Here is the full ranking, with what each agency says it does and the situation it suits best.

1. We Are Social. A global social first creative agency that publishes its own research. Best for large brands.

2. Ruche & Pollen. Community management, social ads, influence and brand content. Best for a full social mandate.

3. Ouest Digital. Social media and community management only. Best for delegating the daily work.

4. Neads. A creative agency built for social platforms. Best when the content is the problem.

5. Clark Influence. Social and influence campaigns anchored in culture. Best for creator led brands.

6. MO&JO. Social media with an in house creation studio. Best for multi channel brands.

7. Woô. Placing brands inside conversations. Best for engagement over reach.

8. Big Neurons. Brand content and social for mid sized companies. Best for smaller budgets.

9. Com And Design. Regional agency covering social, web and search. Best for a local business.

10. Strame Agency. Community management with audiovisual production. Best when video is needed monthly.

What social media agencies are actually for now

The original promise was reach: build a following, publish to it, sell to it. Platforms closed that loop years ago, and organic reach for company pages has been falling ever since. Any agency selling a follower count as an objective is selling a metric the platforms decided to stop delivering.

What these accounts are for now is different and still valuable. They are proof: the first thing a prospect does after hearing your name is look you up, and a stale account says something you did not intend. They are a creative pipeline: the content produced for social feeds advertising, product pages and emails. And they are a conversation channel, where the questions people ask publicly are the best free market research available.

The third shift is the personal profile. On professional platforms, reach follows individuals rather than companies, which means the useful social strategy for many businesses is not about the company page at all.

How we ranked these agencies

We used four criteria, in this order, and only what each agency publishes about itself.

1. Production capacity. Whether the agency produces content or only schedules it. This is the largest difference between two identical looking proposals.

2. Organic and paid together. Agencies covering both can move budget where it works instead of defending the half they sell.

3. Evidence of expertise. Published research, named methods or a specialised practice, rather than a portfolio of screenshots.

4. Whether the site is alive and clear. We looked at every homepage in our list, in August 2026. This was the largest sector we reviewed, at over 140 entries, and a substantial share were generalist local communication agencies rather than social media specialists.

We did not repeat the follower counts, engagement rates or brand names published on these homepages, because none of them can be verified from the outside.

The 10 best social media agencies in France

1. We Are Social

We Are Social describes itself as a global socially led creative agency, with offices across four continents and a stated position that social media shapes culture. It also publishes regular reports on the state of social and digital usage, which are cited across the industry, including by competitors. Publishing the data everyone else argues from is an unusually strong form of proof.

Best for: large brands needing a consistent social presence across several countries.

We Are Social operates as a global social first creative agency and publishes its own research.

2. Ruche & Pollen

Ruche & Pollen has worked with brands since 2010 across community management, social advertising, influence and brand content, describing itself as a hybrid agency and offering a free thirty minute audit. Covering organic, paid and creators in one team is the structure this discipline needs, because the three now depend on the same content.

Best for: companies that want their whole social presence handled by one team.

Ruche & Pollen covers community management, social ads, influence and brand content.

3. Ouest Digital

Ouest Digital sits between a digital communication agency and a web marketing agency, with a team it describes as entirely specialised in social networks and community management, offering to take on all or part of your accounts. Community management is unglamorous, relentless daily work, and an agency that does only that is likely to do it properly.

Best for: companies whose accounts need someone reliable every day.

Ouest Digital works exclusively on social networks and community management.

4. Neads

Neads presents itself as born creative and made for social, an agency growing brands with a creative and performance driven approach on social platforms. The positioning puts creative first and performance second, which is the correct order on platforms where distribution is decided by how people react to the content.

Best for: brands whose social accounts look competent and get ignored.

Homepage of the Neads creative social agency website
Neads is built specifically for social platforms, creative first.

5. Clark Influence

Clark Influence is an influence and social media agency creating campaigns across the main video and image platforms, connecting brands with relevant creators to produce authentic content, and stating an ambition to build social first brands anchored in culture. For many categories, creators now produce better social content than any brand team can.

Best for: brands whose social content should come from creators rather than from a studio.

Clark Influence builds social first campaigns with selected creators.

6. MO&JO

MO&JO covers social media, direct marketing and search marketing with its own creation and design studio, working on 360 activations. The internal studio is what makes a monthly content commitment realistic: agencies without one either subcontract or quietly reduce the output.

Best for: brands running social alongside email and search with one creative direction.

Homepage of the MO and JO agency website
MO&JO runs social media with its own creation and design studio.

7. Woô

Woô has spent close to a decade placing brands at the centre of conversations, across feeds, stories and beyond. Choosing conversation rather than reach as the objective is a meaningful distinction now that reach is largely bought: conversations are what remain when the media budget stops.

Best for: brands that want engagement rather than impressions.

Homepage of the Woo social media agency website
Woô places brands inside conversations rather than chasing reach.

8. Big Neurons

Big Neurons is a brand content, acquisition and social media agency for French small and mid sized companies, offering strategy, creation and performance without the padding. Most companies in this country are exactly that size, and most social media agency pitches are written for someone else.

Best for: small and mid sized companies with a real but modest social budget.

Big Neurons produces brand content and social media for smaller French companies.

9. Com And Design

Com And Design is a communication and web agency in Arras covering website creation, organic search and social networks, with a deliberately informal tone. Regional agencies are dismissed too quickly in rankings like this one: for a local business, a team you can meet is worth more than a Paris agency that answers by email.

Best for: local businesses that want their site, search and social from one nearby team.

Com And Design covers site creation, search and social from Arras.

10. Strame Agency

Strame Agency works from Hyères on website creation, interface design, community management and audiovisual production, with stated clear objectives for each client. Having video production in the same agency as the community management is what turns a content calendar into something that can actually be filled.

Best for: companies that need original video produced every month, not stock imagery.

What to check before you sign

Three questions decide what you actually receive each month.

1. How many pieces of content, of which type? Written into the contract: how many designed posts, how many videos, how many stories. Two proposals at the same price routinely differ by a factor of two on this line alone.

2. Who answers the messages, and how fast? Community management includes replying to people, some of them unhappy, at times that are inconvenient. Agree the response window and who escalates a complaint.

3. Who owns the accounts and the archive? The accounts must be in your name, and you should be able to leave with the content that was produced and the record of what performed.

The visibility that outlives the feed

Everything published on these platforms has a half life measured in hours. That is not a flaw, it is what a feed is. But it means a company relying entirely on social is renting its visibility from platforms that keep raising the rent and changing the rules.

The complement is anything that stays findable: pages that answer what buyers ask, that keep bringing people in months later, and that assistants draw on when someone asks for a recommendation. A post reaches the people the algorithm chose today. A good page keeps being found by people looking for exactly what you sell.

That is what Sorank automates. It is software, not an agency: keyword research, article writing, internal linking, publishing to your site and tracking how often you appear in the answers AI assistants give. Pricing starts at 99€ per month, with 3 days offered and a card required at sign up. If you would rather talk it through first, book a call.

Conclusion

If you want one recommendation: We Are Social for a large brand operating across markets, Ruche & Pollen when you want organic, paid and creators handled by one team, and Ouest Digital if what you actually need is somebody dependable running the accounts every day.

And decide which of the four jobs you are buying before the first call. Community management, creative production, paid social and creator work share a label and almost nothing else.

Frequently questions asked

How much does social media management cost in France?

The variable is production, not posting. A monthly fee covering a content calendar, a few designed posts and community moderation sits well below one that includes original video shot every month. Ask exactly how many pieces of content are included, of which type, and who produces them, because two proposals at the same price frequently contain twice the difference in actual work.

Which platforms should a company be on?

Fewer than most companies try to cover. A serious presence on two platforms beats a neglected account on five, and the right two depend on where your buyers already spend time rather than on which platforms are growing fastest. A good agency will tell you to close an account. Most will happily manage all of them.

Does organic social media still reach anyone?

Organic reach for company pages has fallen for years and is not coming back, which changes what these accounts are for. They still serve as proof: someone who hears about you will check your profile, and an abandoned account is a negative signal. The reach itself now comes mostly from advertising, from creators, and from personal profiles rather than company pages.

Our clients' case studies

I specialized in GEO thanks to Sorank. The GEO Leaderboard allows me to show my clients their position vs competitors on ChatGPT. It’s a real commercial differentiator.

I’m a developer, not a marketer. My Shopify theme was selling only through word-of-mouth and ads. With Sorank I finally understood how to structure my SEO and write articles to rank. The audit showed my product page was too slow. In 2 months, my organic traffic doubled and I’m starting to appear in ChatGPT answers when people search for Shopify themes. All of that with about 2 hours per week.

I manage our dealership’s website and it had dozens of issues: slow pages, 404 errors, missing tags. We were losing rankings every month without understanding why. The Sorank audit detected everything in 5 minutes. I sent the report to our web provider with the priority fixes. We regained our rankings and traffic picked back up. Perfect for someone non-technical like me!

I’m a CMO for a SaaS and I manage acquisition in a very competitive market. We were investing heavily in our product but not working on our SEO. No visibility on our real competitors, no tracking of our presence in AI. Sorank showed us our positioning vs competitors, which keywords to target, and GEO opportunities we had completely ignored!

We are an Ads agency and we wanted to get our SEO back on track once and for all. Sorank gave us a clear view of our site, helped us prioritize optimizations, and properly structure our content. The tool is easy to use, well designed for a team, and very practical for centralizing tracking without having to juggle multiple platforms. A very solid foundation to start fresh with our SEO.

For 2 years, 100% of my clients came from LinkedIn. Posting daily, commenting, DM follow-ups… totally dependent on the algorithm. I knew I needed to work on SEO but always postponed it: too long, too technical, not my job. With Sorank, I finally took the step. In 4 months, I generate 15 organic leads per month without posting anything. It’s not 50/50 with LinkedIn yet, but I sleep better knowing I now have a second lead source growing on autopilot.
