Contractor estimating software: compare the 10 best of 2027 (Obat, Batappli, Tolteck, Mediabat...), their prices, progress invoicing and e-invoicing in France.

This ranking is for tradespeople and small construction businesses looking for contractor estimating software to price their jobs, invoice and track payments. For each of the ten tools selected, you will find what the vendor says it does, the type of business it targets, the limitations visible on its site and the published price when there is one. A list of points to check during the free trial completes the comparison.
France's e-invoicing reform also applies to small construction trade businesses. An article by the Bas-Rhin branch of the CAPEB (the French confederation of small construction businesses) on construction companies sets out the timeline: since September 1, 2026, all businesses must be able to receive electronic invoices, and very small businesses, SMEs and micro-businesses (TPE, PME and micro-entreprises) will have to issue theirs from September 1, 2027.
The same article describes an electronic invoice as a structured, standardized format, sent through an approved platform (PA, an operator registered by the French tax administration), and able to exchange data automatically with the tax administration. It adds a point that bears directly on your choice: management software is not required to be compatible with every platform. Each review therefore states the platform the vendor announces.
Construction also has its own documents to attach. Service Public Entreprendre, the French government's information site for businesses, on its page about builders' ten-year liability (garantie décennale), states that the ten-year liability insurance certificate must be attached to quotes and to the invoice. During the trial, check that the software lets you attach it to every document you send.
In October 2026, we gathered what each vendor publishes on its site: homepage, features and price list. We did not subscribe to any paid plan, priced no real job in these tools and made no partnership with their vendors. The ranking keeps construction-specific software, with item libraries, quantity takeoffs and progress invoicing, and leaves general-purpose invoicing tools aside. Four criteria counted, in this order:
1. The construction trade built into the software. Price or item library, deposit and progress invoices, retention, VAT reverse charge for subcontracting.
2. E-invoicing. A named approved platform, issuing and receiving both covered, any cost shown.
3. Working on site. Mobile app, customer signature on the spot, dictated quotes, use with no network.
4. Price clarity. Price published in euros, excl. VAT or incl. VAT stated, commitment or not, length of the free trial.
Obat brings together quotes, invoices and job management for construction businesses, from micro-businesses to small and midsize firms. Its price library holds 30,000 items across 18 trades, maintained by the vendor's quantity surveyors. E-invoicing goes through Iopole, an approved platform, and the site says it is built in for free.
The software automatically adds 19 mandatory legal notices to documents, and handles the reverse charge for subcontracting and VAT certificates for renovation work. The mobile app runs on Android and iOS, and Obat's AI writes a priced quote from the work you dictate. Obat also runs a marketplace of subcontracting and renovation jobs.
Best for: the solo tradesperson or small team that wants a ready-to-use price library and a single tool for quotes, invoices and finding jobs.
Strengths: a library of 30,000 items included; e-invoicing through Iopole at no extra cost; free, unlimited support, training included.
Limitations: prices change with the size of the business (micro-business, solo tradesperson, small or midsize firm); AI quote creation only becomes unlimited as an option; purchasing, job profitability, the calendar and time tracking start with the Croissance plan.
Pricing: price checked on October 10, 2026. For a micro-business not registered for VAT, the Pro plan costs €25 excl. VAT per month billed annually (€300 per year) and €32 excl. VAT monthly. For a solo tradesperson registered for VAT, the same plan costs €39 excl. VAT per month billed annually (€468 per year) and €49 excl. VAT monthly, and the Booster plan goes up to €129 excl. VAT per month billed monthly.

Since 1999, Batappli has published quoting and invoicing software for construction tradespeople. Estimating relies on BatiChiffrage, a library of more than 80,000 items included in the subscription, and on Batappli.ia, an assistant that suggests complete quote lines from a spoken or written description of the work.
The software creates deposit invoices automatically, calculates progress invoices for long jobs from the progress you enter, and shows the gross margin, cost price and markup coefficient on every document. For e-invoicing, Batappli has partnered with eFacture from Cecurity (Isagri group), an approved platform registered by the DGFiP (the French tax administration) on December 18, 2025, at no extra cost for its customers.
Best for: the tradesperson who still prices jobs in Excel and wants a reference price library without building it themselves.
Strengths: BatiChiffrage and the AI assistant included; free e-invoicing for all customers; use on PC, Mac, tablet and smartphone, by several people.
Limitations: the Devis plan includes a single BatiChiffrage trade package of your choice; the AI assistant is limited to 8 quotes per month on the Devis plan and 16 on the Artisan plan; inventory, supplier orders and job tracking are reserved for the Artisan plan.
Pricing: price checked on October 10, 2026. Batappli Devis at €39 excl. VAT per month or €429 excl. VAT per year, Batappli Artisan at €79 excl. VAT per month or €869 excl. VAT per year, for 1 user; additional user at €19 excl. VAT per month, additional BatiChiffrage package at €9 excl. VAT per month.

Tolteck opts for a single plan with every feature: construction quotes and invoices, a library of materials and items, credit notes, CEE bonuses (energy savings certificates), progress billing, retentions, VAT exemptions and margin management. The software runs on Mac, PC, tablet and smartphone, and stays usable with no internet connection.
What sets it apart is the link with building material suppliers: you create a list on the Point.P, Cédéo or La Plateforme du Bâtiment website, send it to Tolteck and add your margin in a few seconds. For e-invoicing, receiving goes through its partner Pennylane at no extra cost, and sending through an approved platform built into the software.
Best for: the tradesperson who buys from Point.P or Cédéo and wants to reuse purchase prices without retyping them, including on a site with poor coverage.
Strengths: unlimited users and updates included; unlimited support by phone, chat, screen sharing and email, free personalized training; a one-month free trial.
Limitations: the site mentions no team scheduling, no job purchase tracking and no per-job profitability; the annual plan is paid for 12 months in one go.
Pricing: price checked on October 10, 2026. €25 excl. VAT per month billed monthly, or €19 excl. VAT per month billed annually, which is €228 for one year. The site announces a discount of more than 35% for a business less than five years old.

Designed for tradespeople and construction firms across all trades, Mediabat claims more than 30 years of use. The software covers estimating, with libraries and import of supplier catalogs, then invoicing with deposits, progress invoices, credit notes, CEE bonuses, retentions, reverse charge and waste disposal notices.
Job tracking includes scheduling, team hours and leave, the job sheet, the DGD (décompte général définitif, the final statement of account at the end of a contract) and the profitability report. Quotes are signed on a tablet or remotely, the accounting export follows the FEC format (France's standard accounting entries file), and Mediabat runs with no installation on PC, Mac or Linux, with a mobile app on the Apple and Android stores.
Best for: the business that bills progress invoices and retentions and wants to track its teams and the profitability of each job in the same tool.
Strengths: complete construction features from the PRO plan (quantity takeoffs, work phases, DGD); data stored with OVH and backed up periodically; team based in France.
Limitations: the Batichiffrage library, the custom header and maintenance contracts are options; the price list shows email and text message sending as paid; each additional user costs €15 per month (VAT treatment not stated).
Pricing: price checked on October 10, 2026. The page shows €37 per month for PRO and €67 per month for VIP, with the toggle set to "avec engagement" (with commitment), and €47 per month for PRO with the note "4 mois minimum" (4 months minimum) with the toggle set to "sans engagement" (no commitment). VAT treatment not stated, length of commitment not given: confirm with the vendor.

Extrabat defines itself as CRM (customer and deal tracking) and management software for professionals in construction, heating, swimming pools, landscaping and joinery. It bundles 16 modules, from sales management to electronic signature, including job scheduling, after-sales service, service contracts and a customer portal.
Companion apps handle paperless service calls and on-site measurements for pool liners. Extrabat declares itself a Solution Compatible with the e-invoicing reform, for issuing as well as receiving, through Iopole, a DGFiP-approved platform.
Best for: the heating, swimming pool, landscaping or joinery business that manages maintenance contracts and after-sales service on top of its quotes.
Strengths: e-invoicing included in all three plans, at no extra cost; Qualiopi-certified training (France's quality label for training providers) through the Extrabat Academy; volume pricing based on the number of users.
Limitations: the price is counted per user; the Éco plan is limited to 5 users and the Standard plan to 8; job scheduling, after-sales service and service contracts start with the Standard plan, as does phone support.
Pricing: price checked on October 10, 2026. Éco at €49 excl. VAT, Standard at €69 excl. VAT and Premium at €99 excl. VAT, per user per month. The site mentions monthly or annual billing without showing any other amount.

VAT or €25 excl. VAT per month; Premium at €60 excl. VAT or €50 excl. VAT per month. Additional user at €10 excl. VAT per month billed monthly.

According to its vendor, Vertuoza grew out of 10 years spent running a construction company. The software tracks activity from quote to job handover: quotes with a built-in price library, scheduling of workers, subcontractors, vehicles and machinery, site reports and real-time profitability statistics per job.
Vertuoza's AI generates a quote from information dictated during a site visit, and also creates change orders by voice command while the job is under way. The vendor also offers VertuoWork, a private marketplace where contractors post listings to find subcontractors, and announces its compliance with e-invoicing.
Best for: the construction firm that schedules workers and subcontractors across several jobs and wants to track the margin on each one.
Strengths: change orders created by voice; production scheduling covering people, vehicles and machinery; free access to VertuoWork.
Limitations: no published price, every pack goes through a demo request; Excel, DPGF or architect takeoff import and quote profitability are not in the PRO pack, the first of the four packs.
Pricing: prices not published. The packs page says the price depends on the business's needs and invites you to contact the vendor.

A French vendor, Kalitics offers a 100% web-based construction ERP, meaning a single piece of software for sales, jobs, purchasing, resources and finance, where every piece of information entered feeds the whole, from the quote to the profit and loss statement. On the sales side, the site announces cost estimating with price libraries and precise direct costs, DPGF imported in one minute, quotes sent and signed online, progress invoices and certified e-invoicing.
In the field, a shared schedule brings together teams, equipment and jobs, hours are clocked from the site and reports go out with their photos. Each job's profit and loss is tracked continuously, with alerts as soon as a cost line drifts. At kickoff, a dedicated project manager migrates your data, sets up the tool and trains your teams.
Best for: the construction firm that wants to connect estimating, purchasing, hours and the result of each job in a single tool.
Strengths: stackable offers; a complete REST API and webhooks (interfaces that let other software read and receive the data); unlimited support included, with no commitment.
Limitations: only the Vente offer shows a price, the Gestion, Gestion avancée and Entreprise offers are on quote; quantity takeoffs, waste and output rates, the CRM, scheduling and mobile time clocking belong to the Gestion avancée offer; the site offers a 30-minute demo and mentions no free trial.
Pricing: Vente offer from €45 per user per month, VAT treatment not stated; the other offers are on quote. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

Specialized in progress billing, BatiPro lets you create a quote from the browser or your phone, with a library of preconfigured services, customizable labor rates and automatic calculation of amounts excl. VAT, VAT and incl. VAT. The customer receives a secure link to view and sign the quote.
Once signed, the quote converts into a deposit invoice or a first progress invoice, with no retyping of lines. Progress invoices follow progress line by line and retention is built in. The software adds a crew schedule with conflict detection, one-click time clocking compared against budgeted hours, and tracking of forecast and actual margin.
Best for: the small business that runs job after job paid through progress invoices and wants to compare planned and actual hours.
Strengths: 14-day free trial with no credit card; electronic signature compliant with the eIDAS regulation (the European framework for electronic signatures) on the Pro plan; every plan with no commitment.
Limitations: the Solo plan is limited to 1 user and email support; the item library, profitability analysis and accounting integrations are in the Pro plan; the annual price is not shown, you have to ask the vendor.
Pricing: Solo at €29 per month (1 user), Équipe at €59 per month (up to 5 users), Pro at €99 per month (unlimited users), VAT treatment not stated. Annual payment saves 2 months. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

With Donizo, the quote starts from your voice: you describe the job from your phone, and the software extracts the line items, quantities, prices and VAT rate (5.5%, 10% or 20%) to produce a PDF quote ready to send. The customer receives it by WhatsApp or email and signs it without creating an account. The signed quote becomes an invoice in Factur-X format (a PDF that also contains the invoice's structured data), with deposit, progress invoices and final balance, and reminders go out without you.
The vendor says Donizo was designed by a former plumber. Your suppliers' catalogs are already in the app, and your past quotes, customers and prices can be imported before you subscribe. The subscription includes a web page in your name, filled with your completed jobs. Electronic invoices are sent through Super PDP, an approved platform registered by the DGFiP.
Best for: the solo tradesperson or small team that writes quotes between two jobs, from the phone.
Strengths: a single plan, with no optional modules; deposit paid online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; quotes prepared offline on mobile, synced when the network returns.
Limitations: no free plan, the trial lasts 7 days; without a subscription after the trial, the account switches to read-only and the data is kept for 30 days; the site mentions neither team scheduling nor inventory management.
Pricing: €39 excl. VAT per month billed monthly, or €390 excl. VAT per year, which is €32.50 excl. VAT per month, e-invoicing included. Price checked on October 10, 2026.

Prices checked on October 10, 2026 on the vendors' sites. The entry price is that of the cheapest paid plan, billed annually when that option exists.

1. The price library for your trade. BatiChiffrage, Batiprix, the vendor's own database or your suppliers' catalogs: ask whether it is included, optional or limited to one trade package, and open it on three items you price every week.
2. Progress invoices and retention. Rebuild a job in progress during the trial: a quote, a deposit, two progress invoices, the retention, then the final balance.
3. The approved platform and its cost. Write down the name of the announced platform, check that both issuing and receiving are covered, and ask whether there is a surcharge. Issuing becomes mandatory for very small businesses, SMEs and micro-businesses on September 1, 2027: receiving must already work.
4. Construction-specific documents. Ten-year liability insurance certificate attached to quotes and invoices, reverse charge for subcontracting, VAT certificate for renovation work, waste disposal notices: have the software generate a real document and reread it the way your customer would.
5. The phone on the job site. Get a test quote signed on the spot, try dictation if the software offers it, and cut the network to see what still works.
This ranking rests on the vendors' public pages, without actually sending an electronic invoice through their platform. Our collection tool could not read some feature pages: the reviews concerned rely on the homepage and pricing. EBP Bâtiment is not ranked here, because EBP appears in our ranking of accounting software, and Sage Batigest was not read.
Your trade matters more than the rank. A plumber doing repair calls for homeowners does not have the same needs as a structural works firm billing progress invoices to a project owner. We will reread the vendors' pages before September 1, 2027, the date on which the obligation to issue electronic invoices extends to very small businesses, SMEs and micro-businesses.
Estimating software prices the jobs you have already won, gets the quotes signed and invoices the work. It does little for how a homeowner finds you when searching Google for an electrician in their town, or asking ChatGPT which roofer to call. Obat offers a business profile on its portal and Donizo a web page in your name, but they still have to show up when a customer searches.
Sorank is an SEO and GEO platform (GEO meaning visibility in AI assistants) that runs on autopilot. It starts with a technical audit of your site and an analysis of your presence in AI assistants, identifies the keywords to target, then writes and publishes articles designed for AI assistants. It also shows you, prompt by prompt, when an AI cites you. These articles can answer the questions your customers ask before starting work.
Want a preview of what this could bring to your trade? Book a call. The full list of features is on the page for Sorank's GEO software.
The ten tools in this ranking all produce quotes and invoices; what separates them is the price library, progress invoicing and working from a phone. Before you sign up, run the trial on a real job, check the announced approved platform and read the price list all the way down to the options.
If you work alone or as a micro-business and want ready-to-use item prices, start with Obat. If you write your quotes on your phone, between two service calls, try Donizo. If your business bills progress invoices and retentions and manages several teams, Mediabat brings those features together from its PRO plan.

Look first at the price library and at working from a phone. Obat offers separate prices for micro-businesses and solo tradespeople, with a library of 30,000 items included. Donizo bets on quotes dictated from the phone, with a single plan. Run the free trial on a job you know well before you subscribe.
Since September 1, 2026, all businesses in France must be able to receive electronic invoices, and very small businesses, SMEs and micro-businesses will have to issue them from September 1, 2027, through an approved platform. Management software is not required to be compatible with every platform: check which one your software announces, and whether it covers both issuing and receiving.
In this ranking, Costructor offers a free Starter plan, with e-invoicing and unlimited quotes and invoices. The other vendors offer free trials of varying length, from 7 days at Donizo to one month at Tolteck. Check what remains accessible at the end of the trial if you do not subscribe.
