In short

Julie Tonna is the best overall choice among the best app marketing content creators in France: a former member of the Apple Search Ads team, she sends a newsletter about twice a month on ASO, Apple Ads, the new creative assets of the App Store and case studies of apps ranked number one. Sylvain Gauchet is the alternative: every other Tuesday, his newsletter Growth Gems condenses the best ideas heard in app marketing podcasts and conferences, for more than 11100 subscribers. Both write in English. If you want to read in French, Guillaume Coudreuse shares the real tests behind the growth of his app Sam Tennis, and Clément Parot publishes guides on paywalls, onboarding and Apple Search Ads. The right creator depends first on your level, your language and the part of the funnel you are working on.

Want to go further? Ask

Following the best app marketing content creators in France is the most affordable way to keep up with stores, ad platforms and acquisition channels that change every few months. The stakes are large: the App Store ecosystem facilitated over $1.4 trillion in developer billings and sales in 2025, with more than 850 million average weekly users in 175 countries and regions, according to a study by Analysis Group economists announced by Apple on 4 June 2026 in Apple's newsroom. This ranking brings together ten French creators who publish about app marketing, ASO and app growth, checked one by one, and says for each which reader, which level and which language they suit.

Why is it so hard to keep up with app marketing alone?

Because the rules of the stores move constantly, and the competition is huge. In 2025, Apple's App Review team evaluated more than 9.1 million app submissions and rejected over 2 million of them, including over 1.2 million new apps and nearly 800000 app updates, according to Apple's newsroom release of 20 May 2026 on App Store fraud prevention. A founder who launches an app has to understand review, ASO, paid acquisition, onboarding and pricing at the same time.

Creators are also becoming a normal way to get informed in France, without replacing reference sources. In its Digital News Report 2026, published on 16 June 2026, the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism finds that 29% of French respondents say they get some news from creators, while only 3% say creators meet all of their news needs, according to the France page of the Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2026, written by Alice Antheaume. A creator works best as a complement to official documentation from Apple and Google, not as a replacement.

Why follow creators rather than only reading tools' blogs?

Four reasons, from the point of view of someone who wants to learn app marketing and keep up with it.

  • They show real numbers from real apps. Guillaume Coudreuse documents the growth of his own app in a Build in Public series, with his onboarding, store videos and App Store rejections. A tool's blog rarely publishes a test that does not end with its own product.
  • They have done the job from the inside. Julie Tonna worked in the Apple Search Ads team, Simon Thillay was a growth marketing manager at Deezer. That experience shows in what they choose to explain.
  • They filter the noise. Sylvain Gauchet listens to the talks and podcasts so you do not have to, and keeps only the useful ideas. Nobody can follow every conference on mobile growth alone.
  • Their interest is easy to read. Most of them sell consulting or agency work, and say so. Knowing what a creator sells helps you read their advice with the right distance.

Several creators on this list, such as Julie Tonna, Sylvain Gauchet, Thomas Petit and Clément Parot, also sell consulting or agency services. If what you need is a team to run your acquisition rather than content to learn from, our ranking of the best app marketing agencies in France covers that case.

How did I rank these creators?

Four criteria, fixed before looking at who would come out on top, and applied only to what each creator publishes on their own pages and accounts. Every account on this list was reviewed on 22 October 2026.

1. Regularity. Dated content in 2026, and a rhythm you can count on: a newsletter every other Tuesday counts for more than a burst of posts followed by months of silence.

2. Depth and accuracy. Tests, case studies and numbers from real apps count for more than opinions. A creator who shows how they reached a conclusion comes before one who only states it.

3. Teaching. Content that a reader at a given level can apply, with a clear audience: indie makers, founders of consumer apps, growth marketers, ASO specialists.

4. Independence. Content that teaches something even if you never buy anything from the creator. Selling a service is fine; a feed that only promotes an offer is not.

What I deliberately did not do: I did not estimate any audience. When a creator does not publish a follower or subscriber count, the table says « Not published ». I did not keep any creator without public activity in 2026 in the top 10. I did not include brand accounts of publishers of competing SEO software. When a creator works for a software company, as Simon Thillay does for the ASO software AppTweak, I say so in their entry. And I did not count likes or views, which say little about what you will learn.

One more point: French creators in app marketing often publish in English, because their clients and peers are international. I kept them, and I state the language of each one, so you know what to expect before you subscribe.

This ranking reflects my own experience and opinion as someone who follows these creators every week, not a paid placement. I am Thibault Besson-Magdelain, founder of Sorank, and no creator on this page paid to appear in it.

The 10 best app marketing content creators in France

1. Julie Tonna

Julie Tonna publishes the Substack newsletter « iOS Growth by Neo Ads » about twice a month, the latest edition on 12 October 2026. A former member of the Apple Search Ads team and the founder of Neo Ads, she breaks down what makes iOS apps grow: ASO, the new creative assets of the App Store, Apple Ads, case studies of apps ranked number one and growth tools. She also appears in live sessions with Appfigures and FoxData, and was a guest of David Leuliette's podcast, number 10 on this list. She is French but writes in English. Her audience is not published. She sells app growth consulting through Neo Ads.

Best for: founders and marketers of iOS apps who want a practitioner's view of ASO and Apple Ads, from intermediate level. Readers who only read in French, or who work mainly on Android, will find less for them here.

2. Sylvain Gauchet

Sylvain Gauchet is a mobile growth consultant who publishes Growth Gems every other Tuesday, with issue 149 sent on 6 October 2026. Each issue condenses the best ideas heard in app marketing podcasts and conferences: paid acquisition, creatives, onboarding, ASO and retention. ASO is one of the themes, but the latest issues focus mostly on paid acquisition, onboarding and retention. His site states more than 11100 subscribers, the largest published audience for a newsletter on this list. He is French but writes in English. He sells mobile growth consulting.

Best for: growth marketers and founders who want one dense, regular summary of what the best people in mobile growth are saying. Complete beginners may need some vocabulary first, and readers who want French content should look further down this list.

3. Thomas Petit

Thomas Petit is a consultant in the growth of subscription apps, under the name MADV (Mobile Ad.ventures). He posts regularly on LinkedIn, where a profile excerpt shows about 16000 followers, with analyses of paid acquisition (Meta, Apple Ads), measurement, ASO and the conversion of store listings. He is a frequent contributor to Mobile Dev Memo and a guest of many app marketing podcasts, such as SubHub and Phiture. He also runs the Substack newsletter « MADV - Mobile.Ad.ventures », at an irregular rhythm. A Frenchman based in Barcelona, he publishes in English. He sells subscription app growth consulting.

Best for: teams running subscription apps that already spend on paid acquisition and want sharp views on measurement and channels. Beginners will find the posts dense, and the exact posting rhythm is not published.

4. Guillaume Coudreuse

Guillaume Coudreuse writes in French on his blog Make Time, the « carnet de bord du solo builder ». He published several articles a week in September and October 2026, including a Build in Public series on the growth of his app Sam Tennis, whose episode 17 came out on 20 October 2026, and a guide « ASO en 2026 » published on 17 July 2026. What sets him apart is that he shares his real tests: onboarding, store listing videos, content and App Store rejections. He also sends the Substack newsletter « Le Playbook », whose page shows over 1000 subscribers; his site announces a community of more than 2000 readers. Part of the blog also covers automation and AI.

Best for: indie makers and solo founders who want to see, in French, what one person actually tried to grow an app. His results come from his own apps, so test them on yours before generalising, and readers who only want ASO will have to skip the posts on automation.

5. Clément Parot

Clément Parot is the founder of the agency firstapp and signs guides in French on the growth of consumer apps on its blog: a guide to Apple Search Ads dated 1 July 2026, ASO, paywalls, onboarding, 2026 benchmarks of paywall conversion and retention, mobile acquisition channels and how to find your first 100 users. He also keeps a changelog of his opinions, updated between 18 and 20 August 2026. His blog is one of the few French resources on app monetisation. His audience is not published. As the founder of an agency, his content also serves its commercial offer.

Best for: founders of B2C apps who want French guides on pricing, paywalls and onboarding, from beginner to intermediate level. Keep in mind that the guides lead to the agency's services, and his personal LinkedIn rhythm could not be checked.

6. Marion Balinoff

Marion Balinoff is a consultant in performance influencer marketing for mobile apps and games, with clients such as Supercell, Wooga and Zynga according to her site. She shares her campaign learnings on LinkedIn, for example an « Influence Unpacked » episode with InnoGames, and on stage at Gamesforum Barcelona 2026 and MAU Vegas. She was also a guest of the Business of Apps podcast and of the App Marketing Snack. She covers an angle few others treat: influence as a measurable acquisition channel. She is French but publishes in English, and does not talk about ASO. Her rhythm and audience are not published. She sells influencer marketing consulting.

Best for: marketers of apps and mobile games who want to test creators and influencers as a paid acquisition channel. For ASO or Apple Ads, look elsewhere on this list.

7. Simon Thillay

Simon Thillay is Head of ASO at AppTweak and a former growth marketing manager at Deezer. He speaks regularly in webinars and podcasts on advanced ASO, including a 2026 panel on how ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude recommend apps, a topic close to visibility in AI assistants. He is a co-author of « Advanced App Store Optimization ». He speaks mostly in English, although he took part in a live session in French with Ad4Screen and Siècle Digital in 2022. His personal publishing rhythm and audience are not published. He is an employee of AppTweak, an ASO software publisher, which is worth keeping in mind when he talks about tools.

Best for: ASO specialists and advanced marketers who want to go deep on store visibility and on how AI assistants recommend apps. Beginners will find the level high, and there is no regular channel of his own to subscribe to.

8. Julian Ivaldy

Julian Ivaldy publishes in French the newsletter « Marketing pour apps consumer », with growth playbooks for mobile apps: the Viral App Playbook, a full-funnel framework called LSDCP, Reddit, TikTok account farms and creators. About a dozen editions have gone out since February 2025, at an irregular rhythm: one on 19 October 2025, then « Ghost Creators » on 7 June 2026, the latest edition found. His Substack page shows over 2000 subscribers, and he also runs a Discord community. He covers organic acquisition and creators much more than ASO in the strict sense.

Best for: founders of consumer apps who want French playbooks for organic growth on TikTok, Reddit and with creators. The rhythm is irregular, so do not count on it for news, and ASO is barely covered.

9. Lucas Sabban

Lucas Sabban is an SEO consultant and trainer who posts on LinkedIn, where he has about 7000 followers. On 16 February 2026 he published on Réacteur an in-depth article in French on ASO, « ASO : Optimiser la visibilité & la conversion des apps sur les Stores », one of the few pieces of ASO content in French found during this review. Most of his content is about SEO, and ASO remains a secondary topic for him. His publishing rhythm is not published. He sells SEO consulting and training.

Best for: marketers who already know SEO and want a French entry point into store optimisation, seen through the eyes of an SEO. Readers who want a steady flow of app marketing content will find little beyond that article.

10. David Leuliette

David Leuliette is a React Native specialist and the co-founder of weshipit.today. He hosts in French Le Cross Platform Show, a podcast on building and running mobile apps, with a new episode every one to three weeks: 41 episodes so far, the latest on 21 October 2026, and a rating of 5.0 from 8 reviews on Apple Podcasts. The show is mostly technical, but some episodes cover the business of apps: « ASO, Apple Ads et Growth Mobile » with Julie Tonna on 3 December 2025, Apple and Google commissions and in-app monetisation with RevenueCat on 10 June 2026, indie makers on 12 April and 3 June 2026, App Store rejections on 8 October 2026 and Doctolib on 19 August 2026. His published audience is 3366 followers on X.

Best for: developers and technical founders who want to hear about the business side of apps in French while they code. Marketing is not covered every month, so pick the episodes that match your topic rather than following every release.

How to get the most out of these creators

Three habits that make the difference between scrolling and learning.

  • Pick two or three, not ten. One regular newsletter for the news, such as Growth Gems, one source for the topic you are working on (ASO, paywall, influence), and one format you enjoy. Following everyone means reading nobody properly.
  • Test before you apply. When a creator says a new screenshot, a new onboarding or a new paywall worked, test it on your own app with the experiments offered by the stores before rolling it out.
  • Go back to the primary source. When a post comments on a change in App Review rules or in Apple Ads, read Apple's or Google's own documentation too. A good creator links to it; if not, look for it.

Where does this ranking stop?

Three limits, stated clearly.

It is based on public information. I read what each creator publishes and checked their accounts on 22 October 2026. Some platforms, such as LinkedIn, could not always be read in full, so some rhythms and audiences are marked « Not published ». A creator who publishes very well but quietly will be underrated here.

French-language content is rare. Half of this list publishes in English, because app marketing is an international trade. Profiles such as Lucas Sabban and David Leuliette are here partly because very few creators cover the subject in French, and app marketing is not their main topic.

It reflects one reader's opinion, and it ages. The criteria were fixed in advance, but the weight given to depth, regularity or teaching is a personal choice. Creators also change rhythm or stop a newsletter: check that the account is still active before you subscribe.

What can software do that a creator cannot?

A creator explains what changes in the stores, in ad platforms and in AI assistants, and how to think about it. They do not know your app, your keywords or your competitors, and they will not write and publish content for your app's website every week.

That is what Sorank automates for the website side of your app: after an audit of your site, the software finds your keywords, writes and publishes articles optimised for Google and for AI assistants, and shows you when an AI assistant cites your brand. It does not replace ASO work on your store listing. Pricing starts at 99€ per month, with 3 days offered and a card required at sign up. To see it on your own site, book a call. Many app teams combine the two: creators to understand, software to apply.

Conclusion

The best app marketing creator is the one who speaks to your level, in a language and a format you will actually keep up with. For ASO and Apple Ads from a former insider, Julie Tonna. For one dense summary of mobile growth every other Tuesday, Sylvain Gauchet. For subscription apps and paid acquisition, Thomas Petit. In French, Guillaume Coudreuse for real tests on his own app, Clément Parot for paywalls and onboarding, and Julian Ivaldy for organic growth with creators. For influence, Marion Balinoff, and for advanced ASO, Simon Thillay. And to make your app's website visible on Google and in AI assistants, discover Sorank.

This ranking reflects my own experience and opinion as an SEO expert with more than 7 years in the field. It is based on verified facts, but the order itself is my personal view.
