How the AI visibility score is calculated
The score combines two signals: how often your brand appears and how prominently it appears within each answer.
- Appearance rate (%) = Prompts where your brand appears / Total prompts tracked x 100
- Position weight = (6 - Average answer position) / 5. A brand mentioned first (position 1) gets a weight of 1.0; a brand at position 5 gets 0.2.
- AI Visibility Score (0 to 100) = Appearance rate x Position weight
Example: You track 50 prompts. Your brand appears in 18 of them (appearance rate = 36%). Your average position is 2, giving a position weight of (6-2)/5 = 0.8. AI visibility score = 36 x 0.8 = 28.8 out of 100.
How to improve your AI visibility score
