Our ranking of the 10 best SEO agencies in Sofia in 2026, built on public information only, with the sources, the method and the limits stated.

In short
Colorful Copywriting is our first pick for SEO bundled with copywriting and PR, B63 suits small businesses that want a website and monthly search work under one fixed fee, Illumi fits companies that want a custom site and SEO from the same Sofia team, and Lilacor is the choice for SEO-only work such as audits and keyword research. Every agency on this list shows a Sofia address, office or team on its own website. The deciding criterion is not the "No. 1" claim an agency makes, it is whether it tells you plainly what it does, in which steps, and what you get.

Choosing among the SEO agencies in Sofia starts with a simple fact about Bulgaria. In its survey on ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises, published on 5 December 2025, the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria found that every second enterprise (49.7%) had a website. A company that wants its site found in that market needs a partner who can work in Bulgarian and explain its results, not only a template and a promise.
In Bulgaria, search is almost entirely Google. StatCounter's search engine market share data for Bulgaria puts Google at 95.41% of searches in October 2026, with Bing at 3.68%. For a business in Sofia, SEO therefore means Bulgarian-language keywords, pages built to rank on Google, and a presence on Google Maps when customers look for a local supplier. A Sofia team can meet you in person and work in Bulgarian every day, which is why a local address is a reasonable first filter.
A top 10 helps only if its criteria are visible. A Sofia address tells you where an agency works, not how it works, so the rest of this page looks at the method, the people and the commitment.
Four fears come up again and again, and most of them come from the same problem: an SEO promise is easy to make and hard to check.
1. Being promised a number one spot. Several agencies in this list use superlatives, and some put them in their titles or meta descriptions, such as "No. 1" in the title of IDEAMAX or "Be No. 1" in its meta description. No agency can guarantee a Google position, so a promise of one should come with written terms that explain exactly what is guaranteed.
2. Locked into a long monthly commitment. B63 publishes a 24-month plan, and other agencies describe 12-month strategies. A long plan can be a good deal, but ask for the end date, the notice period and what you keep at the end, including the site, the content and the data.
3. Paying for content that does not read naturally in Bulgarian. With Google handling almost all searches in Bulgaria, Bulgarian keywords and copy matter more than a translated template. Ask who writes the Bulgarian text and how it is checked.
4. Not knowing who does the work. Several of these agencies sell a bundle of website, advertising and SEO, and their homepages do not say who runs the SEO work. Ask for the names of the people who write, optimise and report before you sign.
Each agency had to pass one entry condition before any criterion applied: its own website must show an address, an office or a team in Sofia. A national agency without a Sofia office does not qualify, whether it is in the top 10 or among the honorable mentions. Then we used four criteria, applied only to what each agency publishes about itself.
1. SEO at the top of the published offer. SEO appears in the page title or is the first service listed.
2. A method in named steps. The stages have names a buyer can follow, rather than a general promise of quality.
3. Named projects, clients or reviews. Something a buyer can check by name, not only a count.
4. A declared age. Years in business, as the agency states them.
The order of the list is a judgement across these four criteria, not a score, and no agency is ranked on a single item. The homepage texts used here were read in November 2026, and this page is scheduled for review every 90 days. What we deliberately did not do: we did not use the "No. 1" titles, satisfaction rates, percentage gains or project counts as evidence for the ranking. When we quote one, it is attributed to the agency's own claim, and we did not verify it.

Colorful Copywriting is a digital agency in Sofia that says it was set up on 8 August 2018. Its services are website building, SEO, copywriting, online advertising, digital PR and link building. It publishes its method in four stages, analysis, strategy, execution and reporting, and sells packages named Start, Growth and Premium. Its SEO service sits second in the list, after website building.
Best for: Bulgarian businesses that want SEO bundled with copywriting and PR from one team. Ask for the SEO scope in writing, since website building comes first on its service list.

B63 is a web studio in Sofia that says it has been building websites since 2014. Its model is a monthly package: design and build cost €0 upfront, then €150 a month excluding VAT for 24 months, after which the site is yours. Each month it says it works to get the site found on Google, Google Maps and in AI assistants such as ChatGPT. Its stages are build, be found, keep it running and grow.
Best for: small businesses that want a website and ongoing search work for one fixed monthly fee. Read the 24-month commitment and the end-of-contract terms before signing.

Illumi is a web agency in Sofia that says it has worked since 2012. Its site leads with websites and online stores, and lists Google and Facebook advertising, SEO and maintenance. It says every theme is written by hand, without ready-made templates or builders, and it offers a free audit within 48 hours. Its meta description states public prices from €600. It names projects such as Platinum Racing and ASASA, and sets out six stages: conversation, offer, design, development, launch and maintenance.
Best for: companies that want a custom website and SEO from the same Sofia team. Ask what the price from €600 includes, and whether it covers the SEO work or only the build.

Lilacor is an SEO agency in Sofia whose homepage says it has 17 years of experience. Its title calls it the "No. 1 SEO company in Bulgaria", a claim we report only as the agency's own. Its listed services are SEO consultations, technical audits, keyword research and selection, copywriting and link building. The homepage also promises "success without any risk" and a gift for each new client, which are its own promises, not results we checked.
Best for: businesses that want a specialist for audits, keywords and links rather than a full web project. Ask for the terms behind the "no risk" promise in writing.
Digital Crew is a digital agency in Sofia that describes itself as specialised in online businesses and says it has been a partner for eight years. Its first listed service is SEO (GEO) optimisation, which its homepage presents as preparing a website to be recommended by AI tools as well as found in Google. Facebook and Google advertising are listed next to it. The homepage shows a section of clients who trusted the agency and customer reviews, but the text we read does not publish a method in named steps.
Best for: online businesses that want SEO and paid advertising from one Sofia team, including companies advertising online for the first time, as its homepage puts it. Ask for the method in writing, since the homepage does not show one.

Dilys is a digital agency in Sofia that says it has been trading since 2006, with more than 3000 projects. Its homepage names SEO in the title, next to web design and advertising, and lists six service areas, from web development to SEO and content, paid advertising, marketing and sales, strategy, and maintenance and hosting. It names clients such as NaturDar and ShadiaN and offers a free SEO check. Its figure of 98% satisfied clients is its own claim, and we did not verify it.
Best for: companies that want an established Sofia agency for a site, SEO and paid advertising under one roof. Its wide range means you should ask who leads the SEO work day to day.

CompassBG is a Sofia agency that presents itself as results-oriented, with a team it describes as experienced in web design, programming, SEO and marketing. Its homepage sets out named stages, learn, strategy, action and development, and lets visitors choose a goal among websites, online stores, SEO, AI optimisation, mobile apps and online advertising. It names projects including JAYA Tribe App, an AI chatbot, Aemillius Caviar and LibertyBroker.
Best for: companies that want a method explained step by step, with web development and SEO combined. Its menu is broad, so check which deliverables sit under the SEO line.

Innovatoria presents itself as a full-service digital agency based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Its first listed advertising service is SEO, which it describes as on-page and off-page optimisation, unique content, meta data settings and code improvements. It also offers web development, web-based software, social media management, PPC and graphic design. Its menu includes testimonials, awards, a portfolio, a prices page and courses, although the figures are not in the text we read.
Best for: companies that want SEO, paid advertising and web development from one Sofia agency. Ask who will run the SEO work day to day, since the homepage describes services rather than people.

MadWeb is a web agency in Sofia that combines website building, online stores, SEO optimisation and Google and Facebook advertising in one offer. Its meta description offers a website on subscription from €49 a month and an offer within one day. It presents five stages: inquiry, clear offer, design, development, and launch and care. Its homepage also says it replies within one working day.
Best for: small businesses that want a website and SEO on a monthly subscription. Ask what the €49 covers and what happens to the site if you stop.

IDEAMAX is an SEO agency in Sofia whose homepage describes its process in six numbered steps: an inquiry, a consultation meeting, a price offer, the start with a 12-month strategy, ongoing analysis of results, and an assessment of prospects. It also lists website building, Google Ads and copywriting. Its title and headings use superlatives such as "No. 1 SEO company", which we report only as the agency's own claims.
Best for: businesses that want SEO under a written 12-month plan with a clear sequence of steps. Ask to see the strategy before you commit to the full period.
The criteria below were chosen before checking who wins them, and each cell reflects what the agency publishes on its own site. "Not published" means the homepage text we read does not say it, not that the agency lacks it.

Read the "Not published" cells as a gap in the homepage text, not as a lack of competence. Several of these agencies may serve more clients than their homepage shows, and the honest way to find out is to ask them directly.
Three questions separate a shortlist faster than any case study, and each one matches one of the fears above.
1. Who does the SEO work, and who owns the accounts and the site? Ask for the names of the people who write, optimise and report. Make sure the website, the Google Business Profile and the Search Console access are registered in your name, so you keep them if you change agency.
2. What is the commitment, and what do you keep at the end? A 24-month plan, a 12-month strategy and a monthly subscription each have an exit. Write down the end date, the notice period and what happens to the site, the content and the data.
3. Which result will be measured, and against what starting point? Agree on one or two indicators you already track, such as calls, form requests or the ranking of the pages that matter to your sales, and record their level on day one. Without a baseline, no report can tell you whether the work paid off.
Three limits, stated clearly, because a ranking that claims to settle everything is not usable.
It is built only on public information. We read what each agency publishes on its homepage. We did not audit any site, read any client result, interview any client or verify a ranking claim. An agency that communicates little and works very well will be underrated here.
It cannot know your business. A Sofia company selling to local customers has different needs from one that sells across Bulgaria or abroad. The Best for lines matter more than the order of the list.
It ages. Google changes its search features, agencies in this young market appear and disappear, and websites are rewritten. This page is reviewed every 90 days.
This is the honest part, on a page published by a software company. An agency beats software on what requires knowing a city and its buyers: writing Bulgarian the way a local customer speaks, deciding when a client needs a meeting rather than a report, and answering for a result in person. None of that is automatable today, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling you something. For a guide written for people who launch or run an SEO agency, see our agency guide.
What no SEO agency solves on its own is everything that happens off your site. AI assistants and search engines also draw on reviews, directories, articles and comparison pages, and a company that ranks well but is absent from the rest of the web remains a fragile recommendation.
For a business in Sofia, the pages it publishes are what an AI assistant can cite. Bulgarians already use these tools: the National Statistical Institute found in its survey on ICT usage by households and individuals, published on 5 December 2025, that 22.5% of people had used generative artificial intelligence tools, and 50.0% of those aged 16 to 24.
That is what Sorank works on. It is software, not an agency: keyword research, article writing, internal linking, publishing to your site, and tracking how often AI assistants cite your pages. It does not replace the judgment described above, but it takes over the repetitive work around it.
If you want a single recommendation: Colorful Copywriting if you want SEO with copywriting and PR from one Bulgarian-speaking team, B63 if you want a website and monthly search work for one fixed fee, Illumi if you want a custom site and SEO from the same team, and Lilacor if you only need audits, keywords and links.
And ask how the agency works before asking what it promises. SEO work that holds up is written for Bulgarian buyers, measured against a starting point and run by named people. To place SEO among the other channels that feed your pipeline, see the 50 best customer acquisition channels in 2026.
Other agencies with a Sofia address on their own site came up, from web studios to advertising agencies with an SEO line. They are listed by what they publish about themselves.
| Agency | Site | What they publish about themselves |
|---|---|---|
| #TAG Web Studio | hashtag-webstudio.com | Website and online store builder in Sofia, with SEO optimisation and maintenance, and a claim of more than 30 completed projects |
| DigiStart | digistart.bg | Advertising agency in Sofia for Google Ads, Meta Ads, SEO, Google Business and online stores, with a 30-minute discovery call |
| Gradivnite (Градивните) | gradivnite.com | Web agency in Sofia for website building, maintenance, SEO and internet advertising, with prices by agreement |
This ranking reflects my own experience and opinion as an SEO expert with more than 7 years in the field. It is based on verified facts, but the order itself is my personal view.
Ten SEO and web agencies whose own website shows an address, an office or a team in Sofia, ranked on four public criteria: SEO in the published offer, a method in named steps, named projects or clients, and a declared age.
No. The facts about each agency come from what it publishes on its own website, read in November 2026; the market figures and the study come from the public sources cited. We did not test any work, read any client result or verify a ranking claim.
Who does the SEO work, what the commitment period is and what you keep at the end, and which result will be measured against a starting point recorded on day one.
