ChatSEO presents itself as an AI SEO employee. It was founded by Paul Vengeons, a French SEO consultant since 2020, with Nicholas Dulait and Léo Leducq, and its agents follow the method Paul Vengeons uses with his clients. You connect Google Search Console through Google's official sign-in, with read-only access, then talk to your data in plain language: which pages lose clicks, which keywords sit on page 2, which fixes to make first. Answers combine your Search Console data with market data from DataForSEO and a live reading of your pages, and the chat shows which tools ran before each answer.
The product is built around the conversation. Each message sent to ChatSEO uses one credit, whatever its complexity, and the plans differ mainly by the number of credits, sites and team members. ChatSEO can write articles and publish or edit content on a connected CMS, but its own FAQ states that it only does so when you ask: without a request, it does not touch your site.
What ChatSEO does
The features listed on its website in October 2026 are:
- A chat connected to Google Search Console (read-only), and to Google Analytics from the Pro plan.
- Twelve agents included in every plan: SEO strategy, keyword research, performance analysis, competitor analysis, on-page optimization, internal linking, backlink analysis, indexation audit, structured data, local SEO, GEO advice to get cited by AI, and NinjaLinking, which looks for free backlink opportunities such as guest posts, resource pages and forums.
- Market data from DataForSEO for keywords, rankings and competitors.
- An AI SEO writer trained on your brand, with publishing and editing on WordPress and Shopify on request; Webflow and Wix are marked as coming soon.
- Automated weekly SEO reports with rank checks, Search Console analysis and on-page audits.
- An API and an MCP server from the Pro plan, to use ChatSEO from Claude or ChatGPT.
- White-label PDF and Word exports on the Ranker plan.
- Ten free tools, such as an on-page SEO checker, an H1 checker, a Google index checker and a schema markup generator.
ChatSEO pricing in 2026
Prices checked on ChatSEO's pricing page in October 2026, in euros and excluding VAT, which is added at checkout. Starter costs €29 per month with 100 credits and 1 connected site. Pro costs €49 per month with 200 credits, 3 sites, up to 3 members, Google Analytics and API and MCP access. Ranker costs €79 per month with 400 credits, 10 sites, up to 5 members, white-label exports, priority support and an onboarding call. With annual billing, which is 20% cheaper, the three plans come to €23, €39 and €63 per month, and the 12 months of credits are given upfront. An Agency offer starts at €200 per month on quote.
One credit equals one message sent. Unused credits roll over for one month on monthly plans, and running out of credits means moving up a plan. The free trial lasts 7 days with 30 credits and requires a card: the plan starts automatically on day 7 unless you cancel. ChatSEO offers a full refund within 7 days of the first charge, on monthly and annual plans, and the subscription can be paused for 1 to 3 months.
ChatSEO pros and cons
Pros
- Answers based on your real Search Console data, with the tools used shown before each answer.
- A low entry price of €29 per month, or €23 billed annually.
- Twelve agents in every plan, from keyword research to local SEO.
- API and MCP access from the Pro plan.
- Ten free SEO tools and a 7-day refund after the first charge.
Cons
- Every message uses a credit, including follow-up questions, so heavy use quickly pushes you to a higher plan.
- Nothing is written or published unless you ask in the chat: there is no content plan that runs and publishes on its own.
- CMS publishing covers WordPress and Shopify; Webflow and Wix are still announced as coming soon.
- Its website shows advice on getting cited by AI, but no weekly tracking of brand mentions and cited sources in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini answers.
- No backlink network: NinjaLinking suggests opportunities that you then have to win yourself.
- Without a card, only the onboarding and the first message are free: the 7-day trial asks for a card.
A note on ChatSEO's comparison quizzes
Many ChatSEO blog articles open with an interactive quiz that recommends the best tool for you. We read the scoring of these quizzes in October 2026: in 122 of the 140 tool quizzes we checked, ChatSEO starts with 100 to 130 points before the first answer, while every other tool starts at 0, and the result screen is followed by a ChatSEO offer in every case. A recommendation that starts with such a lead is not a neutral comparison, so read those rankings with that in mind and compare the tools on their own pricing pages.
The best ChatSEO alternatives
1. Sorank
Sorank is an SEO and GEO autopilot software: it finds the keywords, builds topic clusters, then writes, illustrates and publishes the articles on your CMS (more than 10 CMS, including WordPress, Shopify and Webflow), with internal linking, anti-cannibalization and fact checking, without waiting for you to ask. The other gap with ChatSEO is measurement in AI answers. Each week, Sorank asks the AI the questions your customers ask (25 prompts on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini with Essential, 50 prompts with Perplexity and Grok added on Pro, 150 on Business) and shows whether your brand is mentioned, which brands are cited in its place and which sources the AI use.
For authority, Sorank runs a network of direct, one-way links between the sites of more than 5,000 users, based on credits: you earn them by hosting links and spend them to receive links (100 credits per month on Pro, 300 on Business). It also reads what up to 5 chosen competitors publish each week, ranks the domains cited by AI, breaks down AI queries (query fan-out) and brings Search Console, Analytics and AI traffic into one dashboard. Agencies get a white label, the MCP connector lets you drive Sorank from Claude or ChatGPT, and the free SEO tools and Chrome extension cover quick checks. Plans cost $99, $249 and $499 per month (20, 60 and 120 articles), or $49, $129 and $249 per month billed annually, with a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee.

How to choose between ChatSEO and Sorank
ChatSEO fits founders, consultants and small teams who want an assistant to question their Search Console data in plain language, at a low monthly price, and who are happy to drive each action themselves. Count your messages before choosing a plan: each question and each follow-up uses a credit, and publishing only happens when you request it.
Sorank fits companies and agencies that want the work done on autopilot: a content plan, articles written, illustrated and published on their CMS, one-way backlinks and a weekly measure of how ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini talk about their brand, in the same tool. Plans start at $99 per month ($49 billed annually), with a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee. Results usually show within 2 to 4 months.
