Data study of 301025 AI answers: how often Trustpilot is cited by ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Grok, month by month over 13 months.

Trustpilot is cited in 2.7% of measured answers over the last three months, which places it first of the platforms tracked. It is cited by all five models, most often by Gemini at 4.33% and least often by Perplexity at 1.21%.
Trustpilot is the only platform in this dataset cited by all five models, and the strongest riser of the 13 months measured.
A citation rate of 2% means the source was cited twice for every 100 measured answers. Rates are computed per model against the number of answers of that model, so a model with a smaller sample never distorts a column. A source cited several times inside one answer is counted once per company block, which keeps a single verbose answer from dominating a month.
The gap between the model that cites Trustpilot most and the one that cites it least is 3.12 points. That spread, not the average, is what should decide a budget: the same work returns most on Gemini and least on Perplexity. Across all tracked platforms, Trustpilot ranks first.
Over the 13 months measured, Trustpilot moved from 0.24% in August 2025 to 1.81% in August 2026, with a peak of 4.21% in June 2026. Averaged over the first three months against the last three, the movement is plus 2.34 points.
A review profile has stopped being a conversion asset only. It is now the most reliable single source of citations across models, which is unusual: almost everything else in this dataset is strong on two models and invisible on the others. For a business, that makes review collection one of the few pieces of work whose return does not depend on guessing which assistant the buyer uses. The rise is also recent, which suggests the models started treating aggregated review pages as answer material rather than as marketing pages.

Nothing in this dataset separates paid from free profiles. What the models cite is the public profile page, which exists on the free tier. The differences we can measure come from review volume and recency, not from the plan.
