SEO for musicians decides what fans find when they search your name, a song or your genre: your own site, a lyrics site or an outdated wiki page. It also shapes what ChatGPT says when a listener asks for "indie bands that sound like Wet Leg". Sorank finds what people search around your music, publishes articles on your site (the story behind a song, the gear on a record, a guide to your scene) and checks every month which artists the AI assistants recommend.
It works for independent artists, bands, labels and producers, from $49 per month.

"[band] new album release date", "what is [song] about", "bands that sound like [artist] but heavier": fans search for much more than your name. Sorank finds these searches around your catalogue and your genre, ranks them by volume and difficulty, and turns the best ones into articles that link to your streaming pages, your tour page and your merch.
Topics come from keyword research on your name, your genre and the artists you are compared with.
Single announcement, pre-save, release week, tour dates: Sorank schedules articles on the dates you set, so the page about the new record is live before people search for it. Add a line of instructions to any article ("name the producer", "link the vinyl pre-order") and keep each one as a draft until the artist or the label signs it off.
Plan it in the blog planner.

"New jazz labels in London", "best synthwave albums of 2026", "female-fronted punk bands from Manchester": when a listener asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude, the answer names a handful of acts. Sorank asks your prompts every month and shows whether your name comes up, which artists or labels are recommended instead and which pages the answers draw on.
Track it in AI mention tracking.
WordPress, Wix, Webflow or a Shopify merch store connect in a few clicks, and other sites receive articles through a webhook. Sorank reads Search Console to see what people already search to reach you.
Your releases and their dates, your genre and scene, the artists you get compared with, the cities on your tour. Sorank turns them into a list of searches, from your own name to the questions of your genre.
Articles go live on the dates you set or wait for your sign-off. Each one links to your streaming pages, tour page or store, and its clicks show in Search Console.

SEO for musicians is the work that makes an artist's or a label's own site the answer when people search for its name, its songs or its genre, on Google and in AI assistants. Streaming services own the plays; your site holds the story, the dates, the merch and the mailing list, which no platform shares with you. Three kinds of searches matter: searches for your name ("[band] tour"), discovery searches ("bands that sound like [artist]") and the recommendations the AI assistants give.
The competition is wide. In its Loud & Clear report, Spotify says more than 13800 artists generated at least $100k from Spotify alone in 2025, and that more than a third of the artists earning $10k or more were independent or started that way.
More and more by asking. Since October 6, 2025, Spotify works inside ChatGPT, launched in English in 145 countries: a listener can ask for songs, artists, albums or playlists in the middle of a conversation. The assistant then leans on the platforms it trusts. In our entertainment AI citation study (7575 answers measured between May and August 2026), YouTube is the most cited source at 6.53%, ahead of Spotify at 4.26% and Apple at 3.18%, and Spotify is cited 23.7 times more than in the general ranking.
The AIs describe you from your platform profiles, your videos and the pages that write about you. Keep the same name, bio and facts everywhere, and give them one complete source on your own site: that is what entity SEO means. Our guide to YouTube marketing covers the most cited platform.
Search for yourself on Google, scroll to the bottom of your panel, choose "Claim this knowledge panel", then sign in to an official profile. Google's verification help lists YouTube, Search Console, Twitter and Facebook as the accounts you can use. Once verified, you can suggest changes, such as a new photo or a corrected genre. No panel yet? Read what a knowledge panel draws on: consistent sources that describe you are the starting point.
Through event structured data, or through a ticketing site that already supplies it. Google's event documentation requires a name, a start date and a physical location, and recommends a link to the page that sells tickets; if you list your shows on a ticketing site, check whether it already takes part in Google's event experience. Sorank does not add this markup: your web developer or a plugin does (see schema markup). Festivals and promoters will find their own angle on the event planning page.
Craft searches can grow fast: Tiger-Sounds, a studio that sells plugins to music producers, went from 68 to 3467 Google clicks a month in five months with 172 Sorank articles. It is a producer brand rather than an artist, and every site starts from a different place.
Things only you can say. A good article opens with the direct answer (the release date, what the song is about), then adds the first-hand details no lyrics site has: who played and produced, where it was recorded, what changed between the demo and the final take. It embeds the video or the player, links to the streaming services, the tour page and the store, and shows its date. Sorank writes from the facts and quotes you provide, so keep a short brief for each release.

Sorank handles keyword research, the articles and their internal links, a calendar built around your releases, publication on WordPress, Wix, Webflow or a Shopify store, the monthly AI tracking, backlinks from other Sorank users' sites and a dashboard for Search Console and AI visits.
You keep what needs the artist: Spotify for Artists and Apple Music profiles, your YouTube channel, the knowledge panel claim, event markup, press and the electronic press kit (see press release SEO), socials and the mailing list. If you also host a podcast, the podcasters page covers it, and video-first artists may prefer the content creators page.
Sorank costs $49 a month per site billed yearly, or $99 month to month, for 20 articles and 10 AI prompts; Pro and Business publish 60 and 120 articles a month (see pricing), and the first 3 days are free. Google gives no fixed delay: an article about an upcoming release should go live weeks before the date, and a set of genre and craft articles builds visits over several months. Judge it after three months in Search Console.
Yes, if you want to own the answer to searches for your name. Streaming profiles hold the music; your site holds tour dates, merch, press and the mailing list, and it is a source Google and the AIs can quote in full.
Keep the same name, genre and facts on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and your site, get covered by the press and blogs of your scene, and publish articles that answer the questions of your genre. Then check every month whether ChatGPT names you for those prompts.
No. Those stay with you or your label. Sorank publishes articles on your website, tracks the AI answers and shows your Search Console data in one dashboard.
There is no fixed delay. Pages that answer searches for your own name are usually the first to show in Search Console; genre and discovery searches take several months. Publish release articles before the release date, not after.
Sorank starts at $49 a month per site on a yearly plan ($99 month to month), with 20 articles a month. A label can run one site for the whole roster or one site per artist, each on its own plan.
Sorank publishes directly to WordPress, Wix, Webflow and Shopify, and to other sites through a webhook. If your site builder offers neither, check with the Sorank team before starting your trial.
We don't. Sorank isn't trying to be another Semrush or Ahrefs. Those tools are built for data, Sorank is built to do the work. Instead of more dashboards to check, it turns SEO and GEO insights into actions: articles written and published, backlinks earned, technical fixes and AI visibility tracking. Less complexity, more results.
From $49/month per website on a yearly plan, with a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee (conditions apply). Every plan includes articles, AI visibility tracking and access to natural backlink acquisition; higher plans add more articles, more AI prompts tracked and more backlinks. No setup fees, no paying for seats you don't use.
You shouldn't need a full marketing team or expensive tools to grow. Sorank handles your entire SEO and AI visibility, so you save time and money.
