CBD SEO is how a hemp brand reaches buyers when paid ads are mostly closed to it. Before a first order, people search "full spectrum vs broad spectrum", "how to read a certificate of analysis" or ask ChatGPT which brands publish their lab results. Sorank finds these questions for each format you sell, writes sourced answers under the wording rules you set, and keeps every article as a draft until your reviewer approves it.
Each month, it also checks which CBD brands ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini name, and which sites they trust.

"Full spectrum vs broad spectrum CBD", "will CBD show up on a drug test", "CBD oil or gummies": new buyers want to understand the product before they pick a brand. Sorank groups these searches by format and topic, oils, gummies, topicals, lab testing, with their volume and difficulty, so your guides answer the doubts that stop a first order.
The plan comes from keyword research on your catalog and on the brands you compete with.
A CBD article that says a product treats anxiety or pain puts the brand at risk. In Sorank, you write your rules once as standing instructions, for example "never say treat, cure or prevent", "cite the study, not a testimonial", and every article follows them, with its sources listed. Articles wait as drafts in your store until a reviewer approves them.
Set the tone and the rules in brand voice settings.

When a shopper asks "which CBD brands publish third-party lab results?" or "best CBD oil for beginners", the AI names a few brands and leans on review sites and forum threads. Sorank runs your tracked questions every month, ranks the brands cited and shows the sources behind each answer.
Follow every mention in AI mention tracking.
Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Webflow or a custom store through a webhook. Sorank reads your Search Console data to see which products and questions already bring visits.
Add the formats you sell, the markets you ship to and the words your articles must never use. Switch publishing to draft mode so nothing goes live without a review.
Articles arrive as drafts with their sources and links to your product pages. Your reviewer edits or approves, and Sorank publishes on the days you chose.

CBD SEO is the work that makes a CBD or hemp brand visible on Google and in AI assistants without paying for each visit: product and category pages that rank, educational articles that answer buyer questions, and enough trust signals (lab reports, reviews, clear sourcing) for search engines and AIs to recommend the brand. It matters more for CBD than for most products, because the usual paid channels are narrow.
The large ad platforms restrict them. Google's advertising policy on recreational drugs allows ads only for topical, hemp-derived CBD products with 0.3% THC or less, and only after a LegitScript certification and a CBD ads certification; location targeting is limited to California, Colorado and Puerto Rico. Oils, gummies and capsules stay out. Social platforms apply their own limits.
That leaves organic search, AI answers, email and marketplaces that accept hemp. Of these, search is the channel that keeps working after you stop paying, which is why most CBD brands invest in content.
It can describe; it must not promise to heal. In the United States, the FDA has approved one CBD drug, Epidiolex, and has concluded that CBD products are excluded from the definition of a dietary supplement; it has sent warning letters to companies selling CBD with therapeutic claims. In December 2020, the Federal Trade Commission acted against six sellers whose marketing tied CBD to cancer, heart disease, hypertension or Alzheimer's disease, and its orders require scientific evidence for any health claim.
So a CBD article explains the plant, the extraction, the spectrum, the lab results and the legal context; it reports what studies found, with their limits, and sends personal health questions to a doctor. It never says a product treats, cures or prevents a condition. Rules also differ by country and by US state, and they change, so keep a reviewer who knows the markets you ship to. Google treats health content as YMYL and weighs E-E-A-T signals on it: a named reviewer and dated sources help on both counts.
They look for proof. On Google, the brands that rank publish batch lab reports, list the cannabinoid content per serving and answer the format questions plainly. In AI answers, reviews and forum threads carry a lot of weight: in our wellness AI citation study, 3375 AI answers were measured between May and August 2026, and Trustpilot leads at 4.59% of answers, ahead of Reddit at 1.27%. Gemini cites Trustpilot in 7.91% of its answers; Perplexity puts Reddit first. A brand gets recommended when its own pages and its reviews tell the same, verifiable story.

Leave disease searches to medical sites: a product page that targets "CBD for arthritis" invites the claims regulators sanction. Our guide to question keywords shows how to find the rest.
Sorank handles keyword research by format and topic, sourced articles written under your standing instructions, internal links to your products, draft or scheduled publication on Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix or Webflow, monthly tracking of the AI answers and your Search Console data in one dashboard.
Your brand keeps the compliance sign-off, product labels and descriptions (see product description SEO), the lab reports from your testing partner, age checks, payments and the reviews you collect. Brands that also sell vitamins or functional foods will find the rules of those products in our pages for supplement brands and organic food brands.
Sorank is billed per store: $49 a month on the annual Essential plan, or $99 month to month, with 20 articles and 10 AI questions tracked in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Pro ($129 a month billed yearly) publishes 60 articles and adds Grok; Business ($249 billed yearly) publishes 120 (see pricing). You can try it free for 3 days. Agencies that accept CBD clients usually charge a monthly retainer, often higher than for other sectors because of the review work.
Several months. A new guide first collects impressions in Search Console, then clicks; brands that publish steadily on one topic, such as lab testing, see that topic move first. Judge each topic after three months, and update any article whose legal or scientific source has changed.
Count several months. Guides show impressions in Search Console first, then clicks. Judge each topic after three months of steady publishing, and update articles when a law or a study they cite changes.
Sorank costs $49 a month per store on the annual plan, or $99 month to month, with 3 free days. Pro and Business publish 60 and 120 articles a month and add Grok to the AI tracking.
No, and it should not. You set standing instructions such as "never say treat, cure or prevent", articles cite their sources, and every article can wait as a draft until your reviewer approves it.
Give it verifiable material: batch lab reports, cannabinoid content per serving, clear answers on your own site and recent reviews on the platforms it reads. Then track every month whether your brand is named and which sources the answer quotes.
Start with education and proof: spectrum, formats, lab reports, dosing per serving. They bring buyers who are still choosing a brand. Avoid targeting disease searches with product pages.
Yes. Sorank publishes to Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Webflow and WordPress, and to a custom store through a webhook, as drafts or on a schedule.
We don't. Sorank isn't trying to be another Semrush or Ahrefs. Those tools are built for data, Sorank is built to do the work. Instead of more dashboards to check, it turns SEO and GEO insights into actions: articles written and published, backlinks earned, technical fixes and AI visibility tracking. Less complexity, more results.
From $49/month per website on a yearly plan, with a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee (conditions apply). Every plan includes articles, AI visibility tracking and access to natural backlink acquisition; higher plans add more articles, more AI prompts tracked and more backlinks. No setup fees, no paying for seats you don't use.
You shouldn't need a full marketing team or expensive tools to grow. Sorank handles your entire SEO and AI visibility, so you save time and money.
