SEO for footwear brands is how a shoe label gets picked when a shopper types "does this boot run narrow", compares two of your models, or asks ChatGPT for comfortable shoes to stand in all day. Most of these answers are written today by stockists, marketplaces and forum threads. Sorank writes yours: fit notes, width guides, care and repair articles published on your store, linked to the right model, with a monthly report on the brands the AI assistants recommend.
Made for brands that design their own shoes. Multi-brand shops will find a closer match on our page for sporting goods stores.

"Do these trail shoes run small", "wide fit leather loafers", "half size down in Chelsea boots?": buyers ask about sizing before anything else, and a returned pair costs you shipping twice. When the brand site only offers a size chart, the answer comes from a stockist review or a Reddit thread. Sorank finds the fit, width and comparison searches for each of your lines, with their volume and difficulty, and turns them into articles you approve.
Each topic comes from keyword research on your catalog and on the brands you compete with.
"How to clean white leather sneakers", "suede boots in the rain", "what shoes to wear as a wedding guest standing all day": these articles bring readers who already own, or are about to buy, a pair. Sorank writes them in your brand voice, links the models they mention to their product pages and uses your own photos where they fit.
Your product names, materials and tone come from the site brief in Brand Voice.

Ask ChatGPT for "the best walking shoes for flat feet" or "minimalist shoes for beginners" and it returns a handful of brands, often drawn from review sites and marketplaces. Every month, Sorank asks the questions you choose and shows whether your brand is named, which labels come up instead and which pages the answers rely on.
Rivals and their citations are ranked in SEO competitor spy.
Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Webflow, WordPress, or a headless storefront through a webhook. Sorank reads Search Console and Analytics to see which models already draw visits.
Add your models, the widths you make, the materials you use and the questions your customer service hears every week, such as "runs narrow?" or "can it be resoled?". Sorank proposes the matching searches for each line.
Articles wait as drafts for your product team or go live on the days you set, a few weeks before a launch or a season. Each one links to the model page and to your size guide.

SEO for footwear brands is the work that makes a shoe label visible when people research a model, a fit problem or a use: in Google results and Shopping listings, and in the answers of AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Gemini. It differs from SEO for a multi-brand shop in one way that matters: your competitors on your own model names are often your stockists and the marketplaces that sell your shoes.
Clothing labels face a similar task with cuts and fabrics (see our page for fashion brands), but shoes add a constraint clothes rarely have: one length and one width must fit a foot that the buyer cannot measure against the product before it arrives.
Because their pages answer more questions. A retailer page for your boot often carries dozens of reviews with comments such as "order half a size up", while the brand page shows a size chart and a description. Google and the assistants read both, and the one with more answers wins the question.
The fix is not a longer product description. It is a set of articles that settle the fit question for each line, written from your own data: the lasts you use, the return reasons you log, the remarks your customer service hears. Our guide to product description SEO covers the product page itself, which stays in your hands.
On Google, many start in the Shopping results, where filters on size and width only work if your product feed carries them. Google Merchant Center makes the size attribute required for shoes in free listings, and for Shopping ads aimed at the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, France, Germany and Japan; shoes can add a width, and letter widths are accepted in the US and Canada.
In AI assistants, the shopper gets a short list of brands taken from the pages the model reads. Our fashion AI citation study measured 1425 answers between May and August 2026: beyond review platforms, Amazon is cited in 2.46% of answers, Shopify stores in 1.75% and Reddit in 1.12%, and the three leading sources hold 72% of the citations counted. A brand store that answers fit questions clearly is one of the few sources in that list the brand controls; our article on review sites in AI recommendations explains the other half.

Sorank groups these searches by line with its topical cluster generator, so two articles never chase the same query.
Yes, with care, because readers searching "shoes for plantar fasciitis" or "flat feet" are asking a health question. Describe what a model offers (arch support, a rocker sole, a removable insole for orthotics) and leave diagnosis and treatment to a podiatrist. If you mention an endorsement, name it precisely: the American Podiatric Medical Association awards its Seal of Acceptance after a review by a group of its podiatrists, and only to products that were submitted, so it says nothing about the models that were not.
In the European Union, Directive 2024/825 has applied since 27 September 2026: generic claims such as "eco-friendly" are banned unless the seller can show recognised excellent environmental performance, and so are sustainability labels not based on a certification scheme or set up by public authorities, as the European Commission summary sets out. In the United States, the FTC Green Guides aim to keep environmental claims from misleading buyers. In articles, state the fact and its share ("upper made with 60% recycled polyester") rather than a label. Sorank writes from the facts in your site brief and keeps every article as a draft if your team checks claims before publication.
It answers the sizing question in the first two lines, then gives what a buyer needs to order the right pair: how the model compares with your other lasts and with common reference sizes, the widths available, how the upper behaves after a few weeks of wear, and what to do between two sizes. It names the sock thickness or insole it was judged with, and links to the model page, the size guide and your exchange policy. Sorank writes on this structure from the facts you provide; it never invents fit data.
Sorank handles the keyword plan by line, the articles and their links to your models, publication on Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Webflow or WordPress, the monthly check of the AI answers and your Search Console data in one dashboard.
Your team keeps the product pages, size charts, the Merchant Center feed, reviews and the listings at stockists and marketplaces. Brands that sell mainly online will find the store side on our page for ecommerce SEO software; brands with their own shops can read our page on retail SEO.
Sorank is billed per store domain. Essential costs $49 a month on a yearly plan or $99 month by month, for 20 articles; Pro costs $129 (yearly) or $249 for 60 articles and adds Grok to the tracking; Business costs $249 (yearly) or $499 for 120 articles. A US store and an EU store on two domains need two plans. The pricing page has the details, after a 3-day trial.
No one can promise a date. A fit note on a model that already sells tends to collect impressions first, then clicks; a full line of guides builds over several months. Read the results per line after one season, and keep writing for the models where impressions grow.
Give the assistants answers to quote: fit, width, care and use-case articles on your own store, current reviews, and accurate listings at your stockists. Then check every month which brands ChatGPT names for your category and which pages it relies on.
No. Product pages, size charts and your Merchant Center feed stay with your team. Sorank publishes articles on your blog that answer fit, care and comparison questions, and links them to the right models.
Only from the facts you give it. Add your fit notes, lasts and frequent return reasons to the site brief, and Sorank turns them into clear articles. It does not guess sizing, and every article can wait as a draft for your product team.
Yes. Sorank publishes to Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Webflow and WordPress, and to a headless or custom storefront through a webhook, live or as drafts.
With Sorank, $49 a month per store domain on the yearly Essential plan, or $99 without commitment, after a 3-day trial. Pro publishes 60 articles a month and Business 120.
Count in months, not weeks. Guides first gain impressions in Search Console, then clicks; judge each line after one full season of publishing.
We don't. Sorank isn't trying to be another Semrush or Ahrefs. Those tools are built for data, Sorank is built to do the work. Instead of more dashboards to check, it turns SEO and GEO insights into actions: articles written and published, backlinks earned, technical fixes and AI visibility tracking. Less complexity, more results.
From $49/month per website on a yearly plan, with a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee (conditions apply). Every plan includes articles, AI visibility tracking and access to natural backlink acquisition; higher plans add more articles, more AI prompts tracked and more backlinks. No setup fees, no paying for seats you don't use.
You shouldn't need a full marketing team or expensive tools to grow. Sorank handles your entire SEO and AI visibility, so you save time and money.
