Insurance agency SEO is how an independent or captive agency gets found when someone searches "does homeowners insurance cover a burst pipe", wonders how much umbrella coverage they need, or asks ChatGPT for an agent who insures contractors in their state. Sorank publishes clear answers to these questions for each line you write, keeps every article as a draft until a licensed agent checks it, and tracks which agencies the AI assistants name.
The articles explain how coverage works. They quote no premium and promise no saving, because the price depends on each applicant.

"Is a rental car covered by my auto policy?", "what does a business owner's policy include?", "term or whole life at 35?": buyers want to know what a policy does long before they ask for a quote. Sorank finds these searches for personal and commercial lines, with their volume, difficulty and cost per click, and points out the ones you can win without outbidding national carriers on Google Ads.
Ask for them in plain words in SEO chat.
"Independent insurance agent in Tampa for a condo and a boat", "who insures food trucks in Ohio": the answer names a handful of agencies and the pages behind them. Sorank asks your prompts every month and reports your visibility rate, your rank among the cited sites and the number of sources that cite you, model by model.
Each answer is stored in AI mention tracking.

Insurance questions follow the calendar: winter water damage, spring hail, a teenager getting a license, the renewal dates of your commercial accounts, Medicare's annual enrollment for agencies that sell it. Sorank schedules each article weeks ahead, so the answer is online when the questions start.
Plan the year in the content calendar.
WordPress, Wix, Webflow, or any other site through a webhook. Sorank then reads your Search Console data to see which lines and towns already bring visits.
Auto, home, life, business owner's policies, workers' compensation: add what you write and the states where you hold a license. Sorank proposes the buyer questions for each line, ranked by how close they are to a quote request.
Articles arrive as drafts. Once an agent or your compliance contact approves them, they are published on your dates, linked to the matching coverage page and to your quote form.

Insurance agency SEO is the work that makes a local agency appear when people research coverage or look for an agent: in the Google Maps results, in the regular results and in the answers of AI assistants such as ChatGPT. It rests on a complete Google Business Profile with reviews, one page per line of insurance, and articles that answer the questions buyers and policyholders ask.
An independent agency can compare several carriers, a captive agent represents one brand, and both sell advice more than a price. Agents who also sell annuities or retirement products will find the neighboring searches on our page for financial advisors, and home insurance questions often start with a mortgage, covered on our page for lending.
Broad searches such as "car insurance quotes" belong to national carriers and comparison sites with large advertising budgets; insurance terms sit near the top of our list of the most expensive keywords on Google Ads. A local agency wins elsewhere: on precise coverage questions, on trades and situations the big sites treat in one line, and on searches that include a town.
AI assistants then lean heavily on reviews. Sorank has not published an insurance-only study, but in our finance AI citation study, 6600 AI answers were measured between April and August 2026: Trustpilot is the most cited platform at 2.8%, after rising from 0% in April to 2.24% in August, and on Perplexity YouTube leads at 3%. An agency gets recommended by being visible where the answers look: its own explanations, its reviews and the review sites AI assistants trust.
In the United States, insurance is regulated state by state. The NAIC, governed by the chief insurance regulators of the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five territories, writes model laws that states adopt in their own form, as the NAIC explains on its model laws page. Its Unfair Trade Practices Act model treats as unfair any statement that misrepresents the benefits, conditions or terms of a policy, including an intentional misquote of a premium rate, and any advertisement about insurance that is untrue, deceptive or misleading, internet postings included. Your state department of insurance enforces its own version.
In the United Kingdom, ICOBS 2.2 of the FCA Handbook requires every communication and financial promotion to be clear, fair and not misleading, and marketing to be clearly identifiable as marketing. Its guidance on pricing claims is precise: a promotion that implies a lower or the cheapest premium should match the result most customers who respond can expect, unless the proportion who will get it is stated prominently, and should state the basis of the claimed benefit and its significant limits.
For your articles, this means explaining coverage in general terms, never writing "save up to" or a premium figure, and sending readers to their policy wording and to a quote. Insurance is also a YMYL topic for Google, which looks closely at who stands behind the page. Sorank keeps each article as a draft, and your agency decides whether it complies.

Our guide to local keyword research shows how to combine each line with the towns you serve.
A direct answer first, then the state or country it applies to, since minimum limits and rules differ. Next, what policies usually cover, what they often exclude, and the line that says the reader's own policy and declarations page decide. Name the licensed agent who reviewed the article, show the review date, and cite primary sources such as the state department of insurance or the insurer's published policy forms. Close with a short FAQ, marked up with FAQ schema, and a link to the quote form. Update the article when a rule or a policy form changes.
Follow the practitioner rules in Google's guidelines for representing your business. A captive agent who is the only public-facing professional at a branded location uses one profile named in the format brand, colon, agent name; Google's own example is "Allstate: Joe Miller". When several agents work at one office, the agency keeps its own profile and each agent's profile carries the agent's name alone. Our checklist to verify a Google Business Profile covers the first steps.
Sorank handles keyword research by line and state, the drafts with their sources and internal links, publication once approved, seasonal scheduling, backlinks from the sites of other Sorank customers within your filters, the monthly AI report and your Search Console data in one dashboard.
The agency keeps licensed review and compliance, quotes and premiums, any approval its carriers require for marketing that names them, its Google Business Profile, reviews (see how to get more Google reviews), and its coverage pages.
Sorank costs $49 a month per site on yearly billing, or $99 month to month, for 20 articles and 10 prompts tracked in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. An agency writing many lines may prefer Pro at $129 a month yearly or $249 monthly (60 articles, 20 prompts, Grok added) or Business at $249 yearly or $499 monthly (120 articles, 50 prompts); compare the plans. A 3-day free trial comes first, and the 90-day results-or-refund guarantee applies to all plans. SEO agencies working for insurance agencies usually charge a monthly retainer, which can also include listings, reviews tools and ads.
Results take months rather than weeks: precise coverage questions in one state usually show impressions first, while broad quote searches stay with the national players. Read the impressions, clicks and AI mentions of each line after a full quarter, and publish more where they rise.
Yes. Every article can be published as a draft on your WordPress, Wix or Webflow site, or sent through a webhook, so an agent or your compliance contact edits or approves it first.
No. The articles explain coverage, exclusions and the factors behind a premium in general terms. Prices and quotes stay in your quoting process, which keeps the content clear of misleading pricing claims.
Your profile and reviews stay with your agency. Sorank works on your website content and on the AI answers, and its guides explain how to name the profile of a captive agent and how to collect reviews.
Publish precise answers on the lines and trades you know best, keep your reviews and directory listings current, then check every month whether ChatGPT names your agency and which sources it quotes.
Yes. AI assistants often run web searches before they answer, as the queries Sorank records show, so clear coverage articles on your site serve both Google and the assistants.
Sorank starts at $49 a month billed yearly, or $99 a month with no commitment, with a 3-day free trial. Expect several months before articles bring steady visits.
We don't. Sorank isn't trying to be another Semrush or Ahrefs. Those tools are built for data, Sorank is built to do the work. Instead of more dashboards to check, it turns SEO and GEO insights into actions: articles written and published, backlinks earned, technical fixes and AI visibility tracking. Less complexity, more results.
From $49/month per website on a yearly plan, with a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee (conditions apply). Every plan includes articles, AI visibility tracking and access to natural backlink acquisition; higher plans add more articles, more AI prompts tracked and more backlinks. No setup fees, no paying for seats you don't use.
You shouldn't need a full marketing team or expensive tools to grow. Sorank handles your entire SEO and AI visibility, so you save time and money.
