SEO for food manufacturers has to serve two audiences. A retail buyer or a young brand searches "private label granola manufacturer", "hot sauce co-packer with low minimums" or asks ChatGPT which plants in the region hold a BRCGS certificate. A shopper who already bought your product searches whether it contains sesame, how long it keeps once opened, or what to cook with it. Sorank finds the questions of both, publishes the answers on your website, and tracks which manufacturers and brands the AI assistants name.
Your quality team can approve every allergen or nutrition claim before it goes live.

"Private label snack manufacturer", "co-packer for small batch sauces", "SQF certified bakery co-manufacturer in Ohio": brands and retailers search by product, process, certification and minimum run. Sorank finds these searches for each line you run, with their volume and difficulty, and plans the articles that answer them: what you can make, in which formats, from which batch size, with which certificates.
Ask for a full keyword search on any product line in SEO Chat.
"Does this granola contain tree nuts?", "is it made in a facility that handles peanuts?", "how long does the sauce keep in the fridge?": consumers ask your website what the label has no room to explain. Sorank writes allergen, storage and recipe articles from the facts you provide and sends them to your site as drafts, so your quality or regulatory manager checks each claim before publication.
Write the claims you never make, such as "healthy" or "allergen free", once in the site brief of brand voice: every article follows it.

A category manager asks Gemini for "gluten-free bakery co-packers in the Midwest"; a founder asks ChatGPT how to find a co-packer for a first run of 5000 jars. Sorank asks the questions you track every month and lists the ones where your company is absent, so you know which product line or certification to write about next.
The list of missed questions is in AI mention tracking.
Some manufacturers run one site for buyers and another for consumers; others keep both on one domain. Connect each one on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix or through a webhook, and Sorank reads its Search Console data to see which products and services already bring visits.
List your product categories, pack formats, processes, minimum runs, certifications, allergen controls and the regions you deliver. Sorank turns them into research topics for trade buyers and for consumers, each keyword with its intent.
Articles that mention allergens, nutrition or certificates wait as drafts until your quality team approves them. Each one links to the matching product or capability page, and to your quote form or your where-to-buy page.

SEO for food manufacturers is the work that makes a food plant and its brands visible in Google and in AI answers, for two kinds of searches: trade searches from brands, retailers and distributors looking for a supplier, and consumer searches from people who buy, cook and eat your products. Each kind needs its own pages, and both rely on the same facts: recipes, processes, certificates and labels.
The trade side is large. In the United States, store brands reached a record $282.8 billion in sales in 2025, 21.3% of dollar sales, according to the Private Label Manufacturers Association; every one of those products is made by a manufacturer that a retailer had to find. Brands that only sell to consumers have their own page on SEO for food and beverage brands, wholesalers on SEO for food distribution, and certified producers on SEO for organic food.
They search by product and process, then check proof. A co-packer produces a client's own recipe under the client's brand; a private label manufacturer offers its own recipes for a retailer to sell under the store brand. Buyers search both ways, so say clearly which model you offer, from which minimum run, and who owns the formula.
Certification comes next. The Global Food Safety Initiative recognizes certification programmes such as SQF, BRCGS, IFS Food and FSSC 22000, and many retailers ask for one of them before an audit. A page per certificate, with its scope, grade and last audit date, answers that check before the first call.
Mostly places where consumers talk. Our food and beverage AI citation study, run on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, is driven by restaurant questions, but it shows where packaged products get discussed: Trustpilot appears in 2.2% of answers, Reddit in 1.83% and Wikipedia in 1.16%, while LinkedIn, where many manufacturers post, reaches only 0.25%. Our Trustpilot citation study explains how review pages get quoted.
The study holds few trade questions, so measure your own: track the sourcing prompts of your category and see which pages the assistants read. Then write your formats, minimum runs and certificates in plain text, where a model can quote them.

Your website must say exactly what the label says. In the European Union, Regulation 1169/2011 requires allergens to stand out in the ingredient list by font, style or background colour, and sets the same labelling requirements for online and distance selling as for a sale in a shop. In the United States, the FDA defines the major allergens and how they must appear on the label; elsewhere, check the rules of your national food authority.
Each article about a product should repeat the ingredients and allergen statement of the current label, give the date it was checked and avoid any claim your tests do not support. Sorank keeps these articles as drafts until your quality team approves them.
More and more, before they sign. In the United States, the FDA Food Traceability Rule asks companies handling listed foods to keep key data for each critical step, to hold a traceability plan and to hand over records within 24 hours on request; Congress directed the FDA not to enforce it before July 20, 2028. Other markets have their own rules, so check those of the countries you supply.
An article that explains your lot coding, your records and your recall procedure answers a retailer's questionnaire before the audit, and gives buyers a page about your plant they can find on Google.
Split them by audience, then by search intent:
Google can show recipes in its results and in Google Images when the page carries recipe structured data with at least the name and a photo of the dish. Our guide to question keywords details how to find the consumer questions.
Sorank handles keyword research for both audiences, the articles with sources and internal links, publication on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix or through a webhook, the monthly check of the AI answers, and your Search Console and Analytics data in one dashboard.
Your company keeps the regulated and commercial parts: product specifications and labels, certificates and audit reports, allergen validation, price lists and quotes, your listings with retailers and distributors, your reviews, and the Google Business Profile of each plant. Our guide to B2B content marketing explains how sales and marketing share the articles.
Each website has its own plan. Essential is $49 a month billed yearly or $99 month to month, for 20 articles a month and 10 prompts tracked on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Pro ($129 a month billed yearly) brings 60 articles and adds Grok; Business ($249 a month billed yearly) brings 120 articles (see pricing). A manufacturer with a trade site and a brand site pays for two plans. Every plan starts with a 3-day free trial and carries the 90-day results-or-refund guarantee.
Consumer articles usually earn impressions first, because more people search them. Trade articles bring fewer visits, but one visit can be a contract for a full production line. Give both three to six months, then compare them in Search Console: impressions first, then clicks, then quote requests from the trade pages.
Three to six months for most articles. Consumer topics gain impressions faster, trade topics bring fewer but larger opportunities. Judge each product line on its Search Console data.
Sorank costs $49 a month per website on the yearly plan, or $99 month to month, for 20 articles a month. Pro and Business publish 60 and 120 articles; every plan starts with a 3-day free trial.
Yes. Sorank can send every article to your site as a draft, so your quality or regulatory manager checks ingredients, allergens and claims against the current label before publication.
Publish clear pages on what you make, your minimum runs and your certificates, keep your listings in trade directories consistent, and track every month whether ChatGPT names you for the sourcing questions buyers ask.
Start with your strongest product lines described the way buyers search them (product, process, certificate, minimum run), then add the questions consumers ask about allergens, storage and recipes.
Yes. Sorank publishes to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and Wix, and to other sites through a webhook, with links to your product pages. Your Google Business Profile and retailer listings stay with your team.
We don't. Sorank isn't trying to be another Semrush or Ahrefs. Those tools are built for data, Sorank is built to do the work. Instead of more dashboards to check, it turns SEO and GEO insights into actions: articles written and published, backlinks earned, technical fixes and AI visibility tracking. Less complexity, more results.
From $49/month per website on a yearly plan, with a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee (conditions apply). Every plan includes articles, AI visibility tracking and access to natural backlink acquisition; higher plans add more articles, more AI prompts tracked and more backlinks. No setup fees, no paying for seats you don't use.
You shouldn't need a full marketing team or expensive tools to grow. Sorank handles your entire SEO and AI visibility, so you save time and money.
