SEO for banks is how a retail or community bank gets found when someone types "12-month CD rates", "how to open a joint checking account" or "[your bank] routing number", and when they ask ChatGPT which local bank is safe for their savings. Sorank handles the content side: it lists the questions customers ask about each product line, writes sourced answers for your website, keeps each one as a draft for your compliance officer, and reports every month which banks the AI assistants name.
Branch listings, reviews and rate sheets stay with your team; the articles link to them.

"What is a good APY on a savings account", "documents needed to open a business checking account", "how to switch banks without missing a paycheck": people research a bank product the way they research a car. Sorank collects these searches for each product line you offer (checking, savings and CDs, home loans, business banking) and ranks them by volume, difficulty and how close they sit to an account opening.
Ask for a fresh list at any time in the SEO chat, or browse it topic by topic in keyword research.
A savings article that says "free checking" or quotes a rate without the required wording can break the advertising rules banks follow. Switch on drafts mode and each article lands in your website as a draft, with its quality score, until compliance clicks publish. Fixed wording, such as your FDIC membership statement or the instruction to write "annual percentage yield" and link to the official rate page instead of quoting a figure, goes into the writing instructions once.
Drafts, scores and publishing all sit in the article generator.

"Which bank near me has the best savings rate", "is a small regional bank safe for my deposits", "best bank for a new small business": the assistants answer with two or three names and a handful of sources. Sorank asks your tracked questions every month and lists the websites each answer leans on, from review platforms to rate comparison sites, next to the searches the models ran before answering.
Every source and every mention is kept in AI mention tracking.
WordPress, Webflow, or the content system of your digital banking vendor through a webhook: Sorank publishes to the public marketing site only, never to online banking. It then reads Search Console and Analytics to see which product, rate and branch pages already bring visits.
Personal checking, savings and CDs, home loans, business banking, wealth services: add what you offer and the towns or counties your branches serve. Sorank proposes the questions of each line, sorted by search volume and by how close they are to an account opening or an appointment.
Articles reach your site as drafts that already carry your standard disclosure. Once approved, they publish on the days you choose, each one linked to the matching product page, the rate sheet and the branch locator.

SEO for banks is the work that makes the branches, products and advice of a bank appear when people look for a place to keep or borrow money: on Google Maps, among the ordinary search results and inside ChatGPT answers. It has three layers. Branch listings answer "bank near me open Saturday"; product and rate pages answer "high yield savings account"; articles answer everything people want to understand before they walk in, from deposit insurance to closing the account of a late parent.
This page is about banks with branches and deposit accounts. Digital-only apps, lenders, mortgage brokers and advisers meet other searches, covered on our pages for fintech companies, lenders, mortgage brokers and financial advisors.
Most choices start close to home. A search with "near me" or a town name shows branches on the map first, then the national comparison sites that rank "best savings account" lists. A regional bank rarely beats those lists on the broad term; it wins on the precise question asked by someone who already lives near one of its branches.
AI assistants split the work differently. In our finance AI citation study, 6600 answers from ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity were measured between April and August 2026, and only 27 platforms recorded at least one citation over the period. Institutional sites dominate definitional answers ("what is an APY"), while review platforms lead once the question becomes "which bank should I choose". A bank needs both: plain explanations on its own site that the models can quote, and recent reviews where customers read them (see our guide to review sites in AI recommendations).

Deposit advertising rules apply to a blog article as much as to a brochure. In the United States, Regulation DD, the rule of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for deposit accounts, sets the wording in its advertising section, § 1030.8: an account cannot be called "free" or "no cost" if a maintenance or activity fee may apply, a rate of return is stated as an "annual percentage yield", and stating that yield brings further disclosures, such as the date it is accurate as of, the minimum balance and, for a CD, the early withdrawal penalty. The exemption granted to some media does not extend to advertisements posted on the internet or sent by email.
Deposit insurance is the other subject people check. The FDIC states that its coverage is $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each account ownership category, and that stocks, mutual funds, annuities and crypto assets are not covered. In the United Kingdom, the FSCS protects up to £120,000 per eligible person and per bank or building society. These are "Your Money or Your Life" topics, where Google looks hardest at expertise and trust (see our glossary entry on E-E-A-T). Sorank writes from these primary sources and keeps every article as a draft, but the legal review stays with your compliance team.
Our guide to local keyword research shows how to add your towns and counties to each group.
The answer in the first two sentences, then what a careful customer verifies: who the product suits, the fees and how to avoid them, minimum balances, how long an operation takes and which documents to bring. Any rate is written as an annual percentage yield with the date it applies, or replaced by a link to the official rate sheet. The article names the person who reviewed it, gives the date of that review, links to the regulator behind every rule it mentions and closes with a short FAQ and a link to the product page or the branch locator. Rates and fees move, so schedule a review of the article each time your rate sheet changes (see content freshness).
Sorank handles keyword research by product line and market, articles written with their sources, images and internal links, publication on WordPress, Webflow or the system of your vendor through a webhook, backlinks earned from the sites of other Sorank customers, a monthly check of the AI answers, and Search Console, Analytics and AI visits in one dashboard. It is software: it gives no financial advice, and with drafts mode on nothing goes live before someone at the bank approves it.
The bank keeps everything tied to a place or a signature: compliance approval, rate sheets, product pages, branch pages, reviews and the replies to them (see how to respond to Google reviews), and the Google Business Profile of each branch. Google's guidelines for representing your business ask banks to use lobby hours where possible, let an ATM attached to a bank have its own profile with its own hours, and give a public department such as a wealth management unit a separate profile with a different category. Our guide to multi-location SEO covers networks of many branches.
Each website takes one plan. Billed annually, Essential is $49 a month for 20 articles and 10 prompts tracked in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini; Pro is $129 for 60 articles and 20 prompts, with Grok included; Business is $249 for 120 articles and 50 prompts. Month to month, the same plans cost $99, $249 and $499 (see pricing). The first 3 days are free, and a 90-day results-or-refund guarantee applies to every plan. A holding company with several bank brands on separate domains needs one plan per domain.
Google gives no fixed delay. Corrections to branch listings can show within weeks; articles usually collect impressions in Search Console for a few months before they earn steady clicks, and broad rate terms held by national comparison sites take longer still. Review each product line every quarter on its impressions, clicks and AI mentions, and compare it with the same quarter a year earlier, since demand for savings and home loan products moves with interest rates.

Yes. With drafts mode on, each article waits in your website until someone approves or edits it. Standard wording, such as your FDIC membership statement or the rule to write "annual percentage yield", is set once in the writing instructions.
No. The Google Business Profile of each branch and ATM, its hours and its reviews stay with your bank. Sorank publishes the articles that link to your branch pages and tracks how the AI assistants describe your bank.
Give the assistants something reliable to quote: clear pages on accounts, fees and deposit insurance, consistent branch information and recent reviews on the platforms your customers use. Then check every month in Sorank whether ChatGPT names your bank and which sources it cites.
$49 a month per website on the annual Essential plan, or $99 billed monthly, after a 3-day free trial. Pro and Business publish 60 and 120 articles a month for banks with several product lines.
Expect several quarters for articles. Branch listing fixes can show within weeks, and brand, how-to and safety questions move before broad rate terms. Judge each product line every quarter on its Search Console impressions and its AI mentions.
In most cases, yes. Sorank publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Wix and Shopify, and to other content systems through a webhook. It needs access to the public website only, never to online banking.
We don't. Sorank isn't trying to be another Semrush or Ahrefs. Those tools are built for data, Sorank is built to do the work. Instead of more dashboards to check, it turns SEO and GEO insights into actions: articles written and published, backlinks earned, technical fixes and AI visibility tracking. Less complexity, more results.
From $49/month per website on a yearly plan, with a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee (conditions apply). Every plan includes articles, AI visibility tracking and access to natural backlink acquisition; higher plans add more articles, more AI prompts tracked and more backlinks. No setup fees, no paying for seats you don't use.
You shouldn't need a full marketing team or expensive tools to grow. Sorank handles your entire SEO and AI visibility, so you save time and money.
