SEO for tour operators decides whether a traveler books a departure on your website or through a marketplace that keeps a commission. People search "Inca Trail 4 days small group", "is a guided tour of Petra worth it" or ask ChatGPT which company to trust for a gorilla trek, and the first answers often point to Viator, GetYourGuide or TripAdvisor. Sorank publishes on your own site the answers only the team that runs the trip can give, on routes, difficulty, group size and seasons, and checks every month which operators the AI assistants name.
Your guides stay in the field while the articles go out on autopilot, from $49 a month.

"How fit do you need to be for the Inca Trail?", "Machame or Lemosho route on Kilimanjaro", "small group tour of Japan in April": travelers compare routes, difficulty, group size and dates for weeks before they commit. Sorank builds a pillar topic for each destination you operate, with the supporting questions grouped around it, so every itinerary page sits inside a set of articles that answer what a buyer still doubts.
Pillars and their categories come from the topical cluster generator.
Ask ChatGPT "who runs the best small-group tours in Morocco" and it searches the web, then names a handful of companies, often with a marketplace page as the source. Sorank sends the questions you track every month and keeps each answer: whether your company is mentioned, the searches the model ran before writing, and the websites it quoted. A missing source tells you which page to write next.
Answers are stored model by model in AI mention tracking.

Dry-season safaris, Northern Lights departures and cherry blossom trips are booked months before travel. "Best time for gorilla trekking in Uganda", "Northern Lights tour in September or March": Sorank lets you pick these topics from your silos and put them on the calendar early enough to be indexed when travelers start comparing operators.
Dates and instructions are set in the content calendar.
WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Shopify, or a custom site around your booking engine through a webhook. Sorank reads Search Console to see which tours and destinations already draw visitors, and in which months.
Day tours, multi-day itineraries, private departures, the countries you cover and the months you run them. Sorank proposes the traveler questions behind each product, ranked by intent, and keeps two articles off the same search.
Each article links to the tour it describes and to its booking calendar. It goes live on the day you pick, or waits as a draft until a guide adds field notes.

SEO for tour operators is the work that brings travelers to the company that designs and runs a tour, at the moment they research a destination, a route or an operator: in Google results, in the Things to do listings, in Google Maps and in the answers of AI assistants. Unlike a travel agency, which sells advice and trips run by others, you own the product: the itinerary, the guides, the group size and the departure dates. Unlike a destination marketing organization, you promote departures people can book, not a whole region.
Because of their size. Tripadvisor states in its 2025 annual report that it merchandises over 425,000 experiences from more than 70,000 operators through its Viator and Tripadvisor platforms. Viator handled about 22.9 million experience bookings in 2025, for a gross booking value of $4.7 billion, and its experiences business earns its revenue mainly through commissions. A catalog that broad wins "things to do in Lisbon" almost everywhere.
It is weaker on the searches that only an operator can answer well: the name of a route, the difficulty of a given day, the size of the group, the month of departure. These searches are rarer and longer, and the traveler who types them is close to booking, as our definition of the long-tail keyword explains.
They read the pages that already describe tours, and in travel one platform dominates. Our travel AI citation study measured 2925 AI answers between May and August 2026: TripAdvisor is the leading source in each of the three models measured, at 16.51% of Gemini answers, 12.21% of ChatGPT answers and 10.87% of Perplexity answers. Its rate also swung from 16.17% in May to 9.56% in August, which shows how fast these answers move.
The source the models quote most in travel belongs to the same group as the largest marketplace you may sell on, and that group lists LLM platforms among its growing marketing channels in the same annual report. Keep your listings accurate there, and give your own site the depth a listing cannot hold: the day-by-day plan, the guide who leads it, what is included and what is not. Our guide to review sites and AI recommendations explains how both work together.

Yes, through Things to do. Google's help page Introducing Things to do on Google says partners can reach travelers across Google for free with Things to do Search, and encourages tour operators to take part through their reservation technology provider. Tour operators also appear on the list of businesses eligible for the operator booking module, a list Google says may change at any time.
That connection is set up in your booking system or your Business Profile, not in Sorank. The articles Sorank publishes then send the readers who are still comparing to the same tour pages.
A direct answer first, then the facts a traveler checks before paying a deposit: the route day by day, distances and altitude, the maximum group size, what the price includes and excludes, the physical level, the months it runs and the cancellation terms. Write them as text, not inside images or PDF brochures, so Google and the assistants can read them, and close with the questions people ask your sales team, marked up as described in our page on FAQ schema. First-hand details carry the most weight: the campsite where the view opens, the climb that takes longer than planned. Sorank writes the structure and keeps the article as a draft, so a guide can add them before it goes live.
Sorank handles keyword research by destination and route, the articles and their links to your tour pages, publication on WordPress, Webflow, Wix or Shopify, the monthly reading of AI answers and your Search Console data in one dashboard.
The operator keeps the booking engine, availability and prices, the Things to do connection, the Google Business Profile, the TripAdvisor and marketplace listings, the reviews and the booking terms. In the European Union, a company that sells packages carries legal duties: under the Package Travel Directive, the organiser is liable if something goes wrong, whoever performs the services, and must take out insolvency protection that covers refunds and repatriation. Say it on your booking page; Sorank's articles can link to it but do not write your terms. If your trips are built around nature and outdoor activity, our page on adventure and eco-tourism goes further, and groups that also sell stays will find theirs under travel and hospitality.
A tour company with one website pays $49 a month for Sorank Essential when billed yearly, or $99 without commitment, for 20 articles monthly and 10 questions followed in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Operators with many destinations often choose Pro, with 60 articles and Grok added, at $129 a month billed yearly or $249 monthly; Business publishes 120 articles for $249 yearly or $499 monthly. All plans start with 3 free days, and the pricing page compares them line by line. A marketplace takes a commission on each booking instead, so every direct booking the articles bring keeps that share in your company.
Count one booking season. Google gives no fixed timeline, and a new article usually collects impressions in Search Console for weeks before it earns clicks. Publish the content of each season before its booking window opens, safaris and treks often six months or more ahead, then compare the tours that gained impressions and direct enquiries with the previous season.
Plan on a full booking season. New articles gather impressions for weeks before they bring clicks, so publish each season's content before its booking window opens and compare the results with the previous season in Search Console.
Essential costs $49 a month per website when billed yearly, or $99 month to month, for 20 articles a month. Pro and Business publish 60 and 120 articles, and every plan starts with 3 free days.
No. Your Business Profile, your Things to do connection, your marketplace listings and your reviews stay with your team. Sorank writes and publishes the articles on your website and tracks the AI answers.
Describe each tour fully on your own site, with the route, group size, level and dates in text, keep your TripAdvisor profile and reviews current, then follow every month whether ChatGPT names your company and which pages it quotes.
The specific ones: route names, route comparisons, difficulty, group size and the best month for a given trip. Broad "things to do" searches mostly go to marketplaces with very large catalogs.
Sorank publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Wix and Shopify, or to any other site through a webhook. Your booking engine stays as it is: the articles link to the tour pages where travelers check dates and pay.
We don't. Sorank isn't trying to be another Semrush or Ahrefs. Those tools are built for data, Sorank is built to do the work. Less complexity, more results.
