Manufacturing SEO follows the way industrial buyers search: by capability and material ("5-axis CNC machining titanium"), by requirement ("AS9100 machine shop", "ITAR registered fabricator") and by stage ("prototype to low-volume production"). Each search is narrow, and the right one ends in a request for quote. Sorank writes and publishes the articles that answer them on your site, linked to your capability pages and RFQ form, and tracks every month which suppliers ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini recommend.
For contract manufacturers, job shops, fabricators, OEM component makers and assemblers selling to other businesses.

A sourcing engineer rarely types "manufacturer". The searches look like "deep drawing stainless steel enclosures", "wire EDM tight tolerance parts" or "contract manufacturer for medical devices in Minnesota". Sorank groups these searches into silos by process, material and industry, ranks them by intent and difficulty, and plans one article per question, each one linked to the matching capability page.
The silos come from the topical cluster generator.
Searches like "Inconel 718 machining supplier" or "precision grinding ±0.0002 in" are typed by few people, and Google hides many of them in Search Console to protect privacy. The page still collects the impressions. Sorank shows Google performance page by page, tags the articles it wrote, and sorts them into popular, growing, declining and lost, so a technical article is judged on what it brings in.
Follow it in the GEO and SEO dashboard.

Buyers now ask ChatGPT "which contract manufacturers in Texas do sheet metal and powder coating?" or "US companies that machine PEEK for aerospace". Before naming anyone, the model runs its own web searches. Sorank records those searches for every tracked prompt and ranks the ones run most, so you know which pages and phrasings to publish.
See them in AI query fan-out.
WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Shopify or a webhook for a custom CMS. Sorank reads which capability, material and industry pages already earn impressions, including the ones whose queries Google does not list.
Processes, machines and work envelopes, materials, tolerances you hold, part sizes, batch sizes, finishing, certifications with their scope, industries served and export markets. Sorank plans the topics from this brief and writes only what it contains.
Start with drafts so a process engineer or quality manager checks every figure. Approved articles go live on your calendar, each one linking to the capability page, the certifications page and the RFQ form.

Manufacturing SEO is the work that gets a manufacturer's own pages found when engineers, sourcing managers and buyers look for a supplier: in Google results, in AI Overviews and in assistants such as ChatGPT. It aims at technical, low-volume searches where one visit can turn into a production contract, and it ends on a request for quote rather than a checkout.
This page covers contract manufacturing, machining, fabrication and assembly. Specialists have their own pages: plastics and rubber, metals, textiles, machinery and industrial equipment.
They search by specification, shortlist, then send drawings. A first search names a process and a material, a second adds a requirement (tolerance, certification, volume, location), and the buyer opens the pages that state those facts before writing to anyone. Directory profiles and trade shows still count, but the shortlist forms on the pages that answer the specification.
Competition is fragmented. The National Association of Manufacturers counts more than 239K manufacturers in the United States, employing 12.6 million people, and 74% of manufacturing firms have fewer than 20 employees. Most of them have no marketing team, so a shop that documents its capabilities in plain text stands out on the searches that matter to it.
Because they are rare, and Google hides rare queries. In its guide to Search Console data, Google explains that anonymized queries, those not issued by more than a few dozen users over two to three months, are left out of the query tables while still counting in the totals. A manufacturer whose buyers type "ISO 13485 swiss turning 316L" will see the impressions on the page, not the query.
So measure by page: impressions, clicks and RFQ visits for each capability article. Our definition of Google Search Console explains how the report counts them.
The facts an engineer would otherwise ask for by email: machines and work envelopes, materials, tolerances you hold, part size and weight limits, batch sizes, finishing and secondary operations, inspection equipment, lead times for samples and production, and certifications with their scope. Then one clear next step: upload a drawing or request a quote. Leave out "state-of-the-art" and "world-class"; a buyer cannot check them and an assistant has nothing to quote.
Sorank writes each article from your capabilities brief in the site brief. If a tolerance, a machine or a certificate is not in the brief, it stays out of the text.

Peers before vendors. Our manufacturing AI citation study finds manufacturing the only sector in its panel where a community platform is the single most cited source: Reddit leads Perplexity's answers at 13.5% and Grok's at 6%. The mix is unstable, since the same source fell from 8.08% of answers in July 2026 to 1.33% in August, and concentrated, since the top three sources hold 65% of the citations counted. LinkedIn, where many manufacturers spend their effort, appears in 0.5% of answers. The study ran over two months, mostly in French, so read it as a direction.
Two jobs follow. Keep an eye on the forums where your process is discussed, and answer wrong claims with evidence, not slogans. Then publish the technical pages that give a model something firmer to cite than a thread. Our guide to ranking in Perplexity covers the assistant that leans most on forums here.
With one URL per language, not a translation widget. Google recommends different URLs for each language version, with hreflang annotations to link them, and it detects a page's language from its visible content, not from code-level attributes. A German buyer searching "Lohnfertigung CNC" needs a German page, written for German searches.
In Sorank, a site has one target language and market for its keywords, articles and tracked prompts, and the articles are written directly in that language. Our guide to international SEO and our note on hreflang cover the setup.
Sorank finds keywords by process, material and industry, writes articles with sources, internal links and images, publishes them to your CMS, earns backlinks from other Sorank client sites, tracks AI answers every month and puts Search Console, Analytics and AI visits in one dashboard.
The manufacturer keeps the RFQ form and drawing upload, quoting and pricing, datasheets and CAD files, certificates and audits, directory and marketplace profiles, its Google Business Profile, trade shows and sales follow-up. Sorank does not answer requests for quote.
On Essential, one website costs $49 a month billed yearly or $99 month to month, with 20 articles a month and 10 prompts tracked in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Pro ($129 yearly, $249 monthly) brings 60 articles, 20 prompts and Grok; Business ($249 yearly, $499 monthly) brings 120 articles and 50 prompts for plants with many processes or markets (pricing). Every plan starts with 3 free days, and the 90-day results-or-refund guarantee applies.
Count in months. Narrow material and specification articles often earn impressions before broad process terms, and requests for quote follow the buyers' project cycles. Review each quarter, page by page: impressions, clicks, RFQ form visits and AI mentions.
Sorank writes from the capabilities you enter: machines, materials, tolerances, certifications. It adds nothing you did not provide. Keep articles as drafts at first so an engineer checks every figure before publishing.
Because specification searches are rare, and Google leaves rare queries out of the query tables to protect privacy. Their impressions still count on the page, so judge each capability article on its page data.
Yes, as ranges if needed. Buyers filter on them before they contact anyone, and a page that states them attracts requests you can quote and turns away the ones you cannot.
No. Requests for quote, pricing, directory and marketplace profiles and your Google Business Profile stay with your team. Sorank works on the content of your site and on how AI assistants describe your company.
Nobody can guarantee it. Sorank tracks prompts such as "AS9100 machine shop in Arizona" every month, shows which suppliers are named and which searches and sources the model used, and publishes the pages that answer them.
$49 a month per website on the yearly Essential plan, or $99 month to month, for 20 articles a month. Plants with several processes or export markets often choose Pro or Business, for 60 or 120 articles.
We don't. Sorank isn't trying to be another Semrush or Ahrefs. Those tools are built for data, Sorank is built to do the work. Instead of more dashboards to check, it turns SEO and GEO insights into actions: articles written and published, backlinks earned, technical fixes and AI visibility tracking. Less complexity, more results.
From $49/month per website on a yearly plan, with a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee (conditions apply). Every plan includes articles, AI visibility tracking and access to natural backlink acquisition; higher plans add more articles, more AI prompts tracked and more backlinks. No setup fees, no paying for seats you don't use.
You shouldn't need a full marketing team or expensive tools to grow. Sorank handles your entire SEO and AI visibility, so you save time and money.
